Most Durable Waders

I'm weird and buy my hunting stuff throughout the summer so when November comes around I'm not out a few thousand. What is everyone's favorite insulated wader for duck hunting. I've always worn neoprene and would like to make the switch.

Unless you’re willing to drop $1k for Simms, Sitka or Chene, I don’t really think there’s any that are that much more durable than others. Even those will leak but they’ll repair them but you’ll be without your $1k waders for a month or 2 when you really need them.
I’ve had a pair of the Magellan tredlite breathables last 4 years with around 15 hunts a year and had another pair start leaking after one season. I really think it’s luck of the draw. A couple years ago they were $140 and now I think they’re around $200 but I know if they leak after the first couple uses I can return them.

Gator waders made in Tyler Texas.
Just FYI I've had mine for 4 seasons, not a complaint yet.

Take Drake breathables off that list. Had two last season just rip, and yes they were the correct size. Had a pair of frog toggs last from like 2011 to 2022, small hole just gotta patch em. Like the old timers always say, cheapest ones they got because you'll need another pair in a year or two.
Also depends on maintenance, you spraying them after every hunt and then clean them rally good at end of season and hanging them upside down in a closet or throwing them in the shed?

Simms hands down. The question is are you willing to pay the price. My awesome wife got me a pair for Christmas several years ago and they are tough as nails.

I had the same neoprene waders for about 10 years. They were so difficult to get on and off.
Last year my wife bought me some Sitkas. I’ll never wear anything else.

I have a pair of Simms goretex that are over 25 years old however they are just fishing waders. But they have fished hard the first 10 years I had them. Kids lessened that load.

Just bite the bullet and buy Chêne. Then buy a cheaper pair for when you have to send the Chêne’s back for repair.
I personally have 2 pairs of Chêne, and I won’t buy any other brand.(As of now anyway)
I sent both pairs back this spring and they just sent new pairs back. They are expensive, but Sitka can’t compete in the customer support department. I don’t know much about Simms, except that the fishing guides in Canada all use them for fishing and duck hunt in them when they come down to visit.

I haven't been able to talk myself into the Sitka or Chene price range yet, and I've had Drake, Banded, Lacrosse, etc. I was averaging a season or less with those brands and then I got a pair of Northern Flight out of Cabelas (mainly because they had that "no questions asked" return policy. I was expecting them to leak at some point and I could send them back but it never happened! I had them for 6 seasons and only got rid of them last year because the elastic in the should straps was shot. I'll definitely get another pair of those soon.

Check out the Simms Freestone Z Bootfoot waders. Under $600. These are great. They’re Toray not Goretex but very tough and breathable. I love mine.

Yeah I’ve had good luck with cabelas waders too got 6 seasons out of a pair of supermags but damn they’re hot for the south. They’re great when it’s really cold but I have sweated my arse off in them too.

Currently in my 12th year with Mack's PW Bayou Meto neoprene waist waders. I hunt every weekend during duck season, maybe a handful of week days. They get washed after the 1st split, & after the season is over. As soon as they come off, they go onto my Peet boot dryer. I hunt flooded bean/rice fields from blinds sunken into the levees. Boots have been outstanding!

Why are they opening a big arse store in Stuttgart? You think it'll do well with Mack's right there and the quality of hunting declining?

Replace it with Sitka and ask yourself the same question? As long as they're popular, it will be packed.

They're building it there because after being direct to consumer for a few years, they tried to get into Mack's and they said No. So the big money investors in Chene said OK, and started building a compound a half mile down the road. The hunting isn't in THAT much decline in Arkansas, and Stuttgart is just the central town amongst all the public land that I can promise you has not seen a decline in popularity.
They just revamped the waders, basically making them with 2 seams. I have used them and have a relationship with them since they became available to the public. I hunt 50-60 days per season the past 3 seasons, and they have been great. Their Wader pants, Hydro Lok jacket, Flyweigh Jacket, and really almost all of their products and clothing are phenomenal.

High ‘N Dry waders were apparently started by a guy that farms oysters and mussels that was sick and tired of waders not lasting any amount of time. I imagine if they are good enough for baws like that, they are good enough for the handful of times I go duck hunting each year.

Chene and it’s not particularly close.
I’ve had them all and I hunt close to 150 days a year and wear waders probably half the time.
Chene is the only brand that has lasted more than a season and their customer service and warranty is the best in the business.
