You looking for a big deer or a big rack? There's plenty of small-bodied deer with 130 inches on their head you could pay to go shoot in Texas fairly cheap.

This. And it's going to be a different experience than hunting the pine plantations in MS and FL.

They have quite a few of these running around Texas:

You can find what your looking for way closer to home. Run 231 to Montgomery 80 to Cuba. You can find many camps to kill 130 inch deer.

Take things more seriously...Really.
Been taking Deer hunting seriously for about 30 years. I'm an Ambusher and darn good at it but you can't shoot 130 class or better in the Pine Sand hills of the Big Bend

Plan on a week scouting trip late winter before Green up.
Find areas , Pick Climber trees , Oak Hammocks ect.
Come back in Season and climb trees.
Looks like Rut up there is pretty much when we're already Hog hunting down here and Rut is long gone.
Might as well go get a 130 Class... I don't care if he weights 50 pounds, I want a 130 or better and not shooting anything else.
Like I said...don't need the meat really and a Rutted up Buck is Jerkey anyways

Very broad. I have a 152 that looks small because his body is so thick. 286 pounds pre-rut. My 157 was 265 post-rut, so no telling his weight a month before I killed him.

Like someone else said, closer to the Mississippi the better your chances of big deer get, body and rack.

Saw 3 Turkeys and 3 deer this morning riding my 4-wheeler to check Cams.

I’ve seen some hammers on public in the Delta. Right draw, the right time of year and you will see some good deer. I’ve seen some good ones in early bow season also BUT it’s work and you better have something that floats and a gps.

Have you ever seen the deer in IA, MI or WI? The deer in MS are small.

Those deer are tiny too. You gotta go to Canada to get “big” deer. Better yet, a buck in a 5-10 acre pen up North would be your best shot at getting a “big” deer. Everyone know that.

Mississippi is good but it needs to be the NW portion of the state for studs m if your coming from Florida why Mississippi?

Southwest Georgia and the flint river is way closer and is comparable if not better than anywhere in Mississippi.

Kentucky isn't that much farther than NW Mississippi. There's plenty of small farms for decent prices right now in southern Indiana and Ohio as well if you really want to hang a big buck on the wall. You go just a little further and the possibility of a 150"+ monster becomes real. Not saying you won't get that in Mississippi but Mississippi can't hold a candle to Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois.

What part of Missouri? The place I went to was dead, just a few Amish folks hunting. Deer were walking through the middle of milo fields in broad daylight.

If you are just wanting a trophy then pony up about 6-8 grand and you can shoot a 180" buck on a Texas ranch. If you are going the public land route then I wish you luck on shooting a 'big' one.
