North west fore bay on my way North today.

They had those big sand bags out there in 2011 as well.

Is the fore bay empty in that photo?

No. It's filling quick. It looks empty because of all logs & debris that's is piling up on the levee.

There are out trying to locate them & don't want land owners to be alarmed if you see them on your property.

Damn I am truly concerned about the meth dealers in Berwick. I hope they can get their product put into zip locks before the flood hits.

Question, whats the worst case scenario with this flood? Just curious, like to be prepared for the worst. I'm fine here in Mandeville, but for others in populate areas that could potentially be affected. Like a barge hitting the levee and breaking it somewhere, would a barge just getting loose and hitting the levee break it? seem to hear that all the time...

what about the saturated ground we currently have? how could that affect things?

will the opening of the morganza and bc greatly reduce the risk of any levee breaches? (i'd think so because of the pressure relief)

I know people have been giving you some shite, and you and ScottieP have been going back and forth, but i think yall both have good intentions, just view things differently. Yall both know a billion times more than me on the subject.

And im truly asking about something with a small percentage chance of happening, not something likely to happen, just so people don't get all worked up and think you are trying to scare people again or whatever.

Worst case is the Morganza fails and the Mississippi follows the Atchafalaya wiping out all the bridges including i-10 through the basing and wiping out Morgan city. Second worst case is a levee failure at New Orleans...

Both of which are crippling to the national and state economies.

Everyday that goes by the likely hood of anything going wrong has been going down. We have dodged one bullet & will dodge another one tonight. The last front & the one passing tonight didn't pick up moisture out of the gulf & deposited in Missouri North. Winter finally arrived. The levees are wet, but are being monitored very closely. Breakaways & sabotage are in my opinion the 2 biggest concerns right now. I will not discuss different ways sabotage could happen. There will always be some issues, but as long as government employees do there job & stay off TigerDroppings we will be fine. The River coming up & going down quickly from the Reserve/Gramercy North to the Old River Structure will cause some problems & must be fixed very quickly. We more than likely will have more rises before June & that will depend on Mother Nature.

If we would have gotten another 8-10 inch rain up North in the past 2 weeks. Game Over. Thank God Winter arrived. If that would have happened all 3 rivers would have wiped out a hell of a lot more of Louisiana than you could imagine & who knows where 3 rivers would be when the water came down. It would be the (hands down) largest disaster the WORLD has ever seen. The Mississippi potentially would have met the Sabine River on the Texas line.

When the River goes down. There is still a lot of equipment, livestock, & camps to get out. If the public understood the triggers better they would have gotten their stuff out the days leading up to this past Monday. Some did, most didn't. Thursday- Monday it was dry. Triggers & the river forcast are public information. Our government officials are not actually making the calls. & the calls where made a long time ago. Now they just follow protocol. It's honestly that simple. & that why these guys on here have been so entertaining to me. The Egales got a good laugh out of it & said more than likely he is a career field tech.

You are over reacting a little man. The river has been coming up for centuries, and you or engineering controls can't control Mother Nature! And before you get on your high horse about me being in the high and dry, we are having to boat in and out to my parents house, yes as in house not camp. This is across from mmorganza in west fel. My family has been dealing with the river on this land since 1858, this is child's play and a short lived rise. Our family has been dealing with the river for generations and know the risks and the rewards. You just deal with it and repair, kinda like people on gulf coast do with hurricanes
