Mine needs an idler arm, pittman arm, ball joints, and tie rod ends.

its sick what these trucks can produce with relatively little expense.

Well they do make 700+ ft-lbs off the showroom floor these days. That alone is completely disgusting.

Yeah, the new diesels with light mods make ridiculous power. I posted a vid the other day of a 6.4 Ford with just tuner, exhaust, and air filter that made 582hp and 1326lb-ft of torque. It is insane how much power those 3 changes made over stock(~275hp 550lb-ft)

Just shows you how restrictive all the "environmentally friendly" stock equipment is

Stupid thing is that they get much better mpg tuned than stock. I am rolling with 12mpg on my 6.4 right now and after those 3 mods people get low 20s. @ 35k a year I would be using 1200($4800) less gallons a year with the mods
I am fully convinced that the EPA is filled with a bunch or retards. Let's see, catching some unburned fuel and having the mpg drastically decrease(much more fuel burned than before on a national scale), or letting them breathe and use less fuel.
The reliability on these new motors in not very good at all. Urea, DPF, DOC, motor problems. You'd think they were trying to make the US have more part manufacturing, but all of the parts come from other countries.

Don't get me started on that. I crunched some numbers once for a project.
The increase in fuel economy results in less emissions over the life of the vehicle than having the exhaust cleaning shite with a diesel. It will smoke though, and that's a MASSIVE no-no to the EPA. Just check out the exhaust tip on any new model diesel. They all allow ambient air to be introduced into the exhaust stream to dissipate any smoke before it exits the tail pipe. It isn't any cleaner, but it looks like it is, and that's all that matters.
Most of the shite on a gas burner has a negligible effect on fuel mileage.

She did a couple of miles before she realized it. Honestly though the truck was having limite slip prior to that but it got much worse after she had driven it for a week. She got it stuck in the mud an reve it pretty good adn then the 4x4 deal. I'm thinking that me driving 85-100 mph on the hwy on 1-3 hr drives is what really started all of this.
My programer is an H&S performance mini maxx an I run it on wild (the middle setting) most of the time. I ran it on Hot for a 2 hour drive averaging 85+ mph in early Feb though and managed to get 24 mpg in the big beast, empty and not pulling a load of course.

It's probably a combination of the two. Sometimes those programmers get little bugs/glitches on them when you are downloading a tune from your computer, or uploading a tune to your truck.
My old 2004 Hemi Ram had a healthy camshaft in it, but it would never run right. Had trouble getting it to idle when cold and it would sometimes stall out. Sold the truck and the new owner put a new cam in it and then swapped the PCM on the truck...took about a week to get the tune ironed out, but after that it ran flawlessly. I chalked up my troubles to Diablo leaving some residue on my PCM...Diablo was also famous for blowing up people's transmissions on the forums too.

Now with efi live you can get pretty precise with your tuning and eliminate most of that smoke...makes it more efficient by not sending all that un burned fuel out the exhaust...we used to think if you weren't rolling coal you weren't making big power...now we try to clean up our tunes as a group to keep the epa and the police.off our backs...
There was a big event in Kentucky, where a bunch of immature guys were riding around the host town, blacking out intersections and purposely pouring smoke on women and kids...anyone they could...the organizers of the event almost didn't have it the following year bcause of the headaches this caused... Ground rules were layer out and a zero tolerance policy was agreed on with the local police to go after anyone doing this outside of the fairgrounds

I know a guy who spent a buncha money to make his shite smoke like a freight train
Dollar bills flying out the tailpipe. Pretty sure he had raw fuel coming out the pipe.

Almost every Dodge truck transmission I've ever seen come in to the shop has been toast.
Dodge makes a crappy truck transmission.

Yeah, the 545rfe, and rfe series in general, certainly aren't the best. The main problem with them in the gas-burners is the whole 2nd prime/passing gear. Once the truck starts making decent power at the wheels (modded guys), and they either WOT downshift it, or run WOT all the way into 4th gear...it starts wearing the clutch packs pretty good.
Though it's not a bad trans. for stock trucks. My dad's 2004 Durango has 110,000+ miles, my old 2004 Ram had 85,000 (hard driven) miles, and my 2011 truck has 26,000 so far...all with 0 issues.
The NAG-1 in the cars is solid though, guys over at Southern Hotrod build a bulletproof one...though it's really a Mercedes transmission. Hopefully the new 8-speeds Chrysler is putting in everything turn out to be reliable and able to handle some power.

And Chryslers solution to the problem was using a transmission fluid full of friction modifiers.

ATF+4?
That's beyond the scope of my knowledge
I just do transmission maintenance at 30,000 miles and it seems to hold up well.

Man, after 6 pages of these Chrysler tranny problems I am convinced my TC on my truck is going out. I gotta get it to completely go out before the damn warranty is up
