I always get destroyed by the gnats in the marsh, and yesterday the gnats had a banner day. Is Amber romance really the best defence or do y'all have any better suggestions. Today I'm wishing I'd gone fishing in a beekeepers uniform #bubbleboy

I think it works. I bring Amber Romance, Swamp Swatter and a mosquito/gnat head cover.

Sawyers Maxi Deet.

Put that on in the morning and you won't be touched. At the end of the day, there are dead gnats all over me, but none bite.

I have been away from saltwater for a decade or so, but we used Avon skin so soft back when I did it...never used amber romance, so I am not sure how it compares.

Spring and fall is time to wear long sleeve lightweight shirts, Lond pants, buff cover on your head and neck, and amber romance on anything left exposed. Been my pattern for years, works for me.

Good topic. I was out there this am and got destroyed by gnats. I can't remember the last time. Just had this same convo with a friend and he suggested Amber romance and swamp swatter.

Avaon makes a spray skin so soft now. So not like the old days of using a messy bottle.

They got me on Friday. Bad. Haven't seen em like that in a couple of years.

All I had on me was deep woods off. It actually did a fine job once it was applied.

Last year I stumbled upon combining spray on alcohol based sunscreen with a quick coating of OFF. Was on a yak trip with 5 other guys and I was the only one not being eaten alive.

Amber Romance did not work for me. Swamp swatted spray didn't either. The Off spray with eucalyptus worked the best for me.

I've always found Skin so soft to work only by drowning them when they land. I've found Amber romance to be best for me cactus juice also works sometimes. Only remedy I have truly found is to stay out of the marsh when it warms up after being cool.

Vanilla is the ticket.

And I usually carry some dryer sheets with me just wet them and rub..

We're pretty bad today. I used some deet. All I had was the small travel one in my tackle box. Did the job but hate the smell

Bounce sheets do work well

My job takes me in the woods, swamp and marsh. I discovered Sawyer Broad Spectrum repellent and have used it for years. It is one of the few repellents specifically for Biting insects. Works great on horse flies.

you must have ventured into the Biloxi Marsh.

Get ate up by the deer flies as well?

My grandfather always smoked a cigar. He said it was for the gnats. Looking back, I'm not sure if he was serious

When y'all saying Amber Romance, y'all mean the Victoria Secret perfume? This just wreaks of troll
