Looking to buy a 30hp tractor package
I would need:

Tractor with FEL
5’ bushhog
5’ graderbox
Trailer

Anyone know of any dealers running any good deals now? I’m not brand loyal to any in particular.
I live in St Amant but am willing to drive if need be.

Just missed the sportsman show at Lamar Dixon. Some dealers might still honor the show specials.

I have a Kubota with the FEL and it’s served me well. The Mahindras are very nice also and heavy duty.John Deere has great stuff but it was pricey when I purchased is 2011. I’m sure that’s still the case. You can’t go wrong with any of those IMO.

Go look at the Mahindra at Glenco. The owner is Todd Yerby, tell him his old neighbor with the pig told you to come look at his tractors

Keep your money local and go check out Lemanns in Donaldsonville. They will take care of you. Tell the owner his ole coonass neighbor sent you.

30hp seems small for a 5’ bushhog.

Of course I have no idea what you’re gonna cut. I’ll just say don’t ever short yourself on HP when it comes to cutting grass

One of my neighbors drove to Arkansas (I think it was Jonesboro) to get one of the kubota deal packages. Claimed it was worth it... I bought used and then sold it 2 years later for $5k profit, you have to wait for the right deal.

We have a setup that size and it works.

OP. I'd choose heavily based on who can provide service in your area. JD, Mahindra, Kubota all have good compacts if those fit the above criteria.

Parish tractor in Poplarville does kubota packages as well as m&l in both Houma and towards br

You can normally get into a package like that for mid 20’s

Remember if you buy in Mississippi and it is for “farm use” sales tax is only like 1 1-2%, which can save big dollars

It’s actually the recommended size for that HP. I’ve got a 60” Woods bushhog on a Kubota. It does the job.

But it takes a while

OP, if you can’t find what you want here, Beaumont Tractor puts together some nice Kubota packages. May be worth the google visit to see what they have.

On a new tractor, agreed.

Older tractors had so much rotating mass it didn't matter

My old 38hp international will run a 10ft just fine.

Newer mahindra 30 need a some revs to run a 5ft tiller.

Most tractor manufacturers produce quality lower HP tractors. My advice, get one that has a reliable repair center close by (or at least a parts dealer).

If you run a tractor for long enough, it will break ... no matter the make.

If you buy used, ask for maintenance records. That seems obvious but a lot of people run the hell out of their smaller tractors with little to no maintenance.
