Probably want to get a wood stock...I like Winchester and Remington, but open to other suggestions. Thoughts?

I have a Savage and have been extremely satisfied. But the official OB rifle is the Tikka T3.

How much do you want to spend?

Get a Browning x-bolt .270 with a Leupold Mark 4 scope

I have a personal affinity for the Browning Safari BAR in .270.

Ill second this. I have one and love it. The Magazine is a plus in my book. Easier to load and unload for the kidos.

Agree. While the Tikka has much love on this site, and it might shoot the hair off a gnat's arse at 300m, to me it feels like a piece of shite in hand. I say Rem 700, Leupold base and rings, and Vx-1 3-9x 40mm scope.
