Kubota with a front end loader. Hit up Beaumont Tractor for a good deal. They're just fine machines.

I went from a JD 790 (27hp) to a JD 4005 (40ish hp) about 4 years ago. 4wd with a loader, 6' bushhog set me back about 22k. Great tractor for what I need it for. Have a 6' disk, drag and pto spreader. Tends to my 25 acres easily.

We have given our 4400 kubota hell and have never had a problem. I used many times to clear land and move large amounts of dirt before I had access to a dozer. Its not as pretty as it used to be but it works its arse off.

I've got a 38hp Kubota 4wd front end loader hydrostatic tranny.

Love it. Now I dont have any experience with tractors at all except for me playing on this one for the last few months. We got it brand new. I have no complaints at all, really like riding it and its really easy to operate.

I've used three of them brand new. All were crap with in six months. Everything broke. But the 30 year old Fords kept running doing more work.

Cant disagree with this. Know a few people that have 40-50hp Kabota 4x4 and never many complaints. Some use the hell out of them other just small use. Was looking into getting one myself but still shopping around

I find they are to light for hard work. These really fell apart. One was a 90 hp, 75hp, and 35hp. All 4x4

We have a 67 ford 32 hp that'll outwork anything in its class.

we have a john deere and it has been good to us for the most part.

had an allen screw pop out in the transmission and had to tear it apart to put it back in. had a little shitty valve cause the 3 point hitch to stay up. also something happened with the pto clutch and my pto spins slowly even though it is disengaged. all pretty minor stuff but we did the repairs ourself. john deere would have cost a fortune.

I will say that it just isnt designed well. comparing it to my uncles new holland, its very basic and just not well thought out.

also, the john deere bush hog failed. the main shaft just broke. looking online, it seems that there was a defect and john deere isnt recalling them despite overhwelming evidence of it being a screwup on their part. getting the shaft would cost half as much as a new bush hog.

I think I would try a new holland.

also, the mahindra that i tried was really weak. Id stay away from those.

as far as implements, box blade is a must. auger is definitely nice if you plan on doing any fence. grademaster leveling blades work well in gravel and finely chopped dirt. we have a set of 6 foot discs, but I dont think they have enough weight. they definitely dont work as good as the very large discs that farmers use to plow, but it still comes in handy. also ake sure and get 4wd if you have a smaller tractor and plan on getting a front end loader.

front end loader.

I have a 50hp deere. not 4x4. Never would have needed it.

Also, get a set of pallet forks for the loader. I use them almost daily.

A good friend has a 9 year old New Holland that I use 3-4 times a year. It has a foot controled trans. and single 4-way lever for the front end loader. If doing a lot of dirt work you could cut your time down by 25% over other brands because of how fast you can go from forward to reverse and lowering/raising the bucket. Never has any issues.

I went with Kubota over Deere for a couple of reasons. The biggest was I like the quick connect option with the Kubota loader. I don't want to carry the loader when I'm not using it.

I searched craigslist 18 months before finally finding the right one at the right price. I ended up buying an L4240 with 70 hrs and love it.

I don't have a tractor but I'm going to say Deere simply because they are one of my best customers. Dealt with them for a long time and have been to the headquarters many times.

From my experience, Deere is more "comfy" but over priced. Plus most of our smaller green equiptment have been nothing but problems.

I am a big fan of kubota though. We have a 2wd kubota front end loader that's been awesome.
