Why are you ok with changing something like this based on the wishes of special interests?

They don't need to change anything until after they learn how to conduct proper surveys. Well, they can change one thing, purse seining needs to go, especially a rocks throw from the beach. Hell, it is not even Americans doing the purse seining, all Canadian and Asian vessels. They claim they only target pogies, but they destroy the food population and there are ALWAYS huge fish kills on the beach after they are in the area, I am sure they are catching the game fish targeting the bait fish and killing them.

15 @ 13" wouldn't be bad.

I think 90% of the trout kept north of grand isle are between 12-13 though. LOL.

I try to let go anything over 18" I live in a fantasy world where I envision being and old man and catching a fish twice and now its a behemoth. Of course I would never know since I dont tag anymore but she would know and thats all that matters that I got her twice

Have to do something to curve the pressure being out on by the amount of guides targeting specks now

Exactly......I wouldn’t have an issue if there was a problem, but there isn’t other than faulty data being collected. Meanwhile you have some in the public jumping on the idea Bc they think changing things will develop monster trout, except it will just be a porpoise and shark feeding program.

Yes 15” too much.

12” they spawn once

14” they spawn twice or more. But goofballs at LDWF want to split it and go 13.5 inches. How many people are gonna keep undersized trout?

Should be around 15 fish 14” minimum

You don't know what the frick you are talking about, same as LDWF. You are going to spit this nonsense out and then someone else is going to repeat it and then morons are going to think it is bad to keep 12" trout.

The majority of trout start spawning BEFORE they reach 12". They don't spawn once, they spawn every 10 days in the spring and summer. A 12" trout caught TODAY spawned nearly 20 times this year!!! Even with 20 spawns the female only laid 2 million eggs. A 20" female can release 10 million eggs in a single spawning event!!! I am sure that is optimum conditions, but lets say they just release 1 million eggs per spawn a single 20" female can lay 20 million vs 2 million eggs in a season. If you move the target to 14" fish you are going to move from targeting 2 year old fish that are mostly males to targeting 4-5 year old fish that are mostly female. That makes absolutely ZERO sense. The only regulations that make any lick of sense in fishing are slots. Keep the limit 25 per person, add in a slot of 1 or 2 over 18" or hell even make a tag to keep a fish over 18" to 1 or 2 a season so you can keep a trophy trout if you want to have a trophy fish.

When the river pushes out all the saltwater out of the marshes during SPAWNING SEASON when the trout are looking for saltwater to SPAWN in, guess what Sherlock, no fricking trout in the marsh! They don't migrate somewhere else, they just stay a little further south. There is no shortage of school trout, no reason to limit them any further.

Then why don’t you just abide by that personally? No matter what your personal feelings are it’s not good management practice to make decisions based on emotion and faulty testing.

Lots of live baiters getting mad about having to throw back 12.5" fish.

I agree with you though: We need better data and surveys. I rarely catch a limit and I rarely catch small fish, so the current proposal doesn't bother me much. HOWEVER, I want management based on sound data, not anecdotal experiences like my own.

Why 13.5 and not 13 or 14.. is there science on that length?

I would be a proponent of 20 and 13". I also would like to see them eliminate the guides limit on chartered trips!

Cheddar Bay Biscuits. Are the biscuits from Cheddar Bay or are they bay biscuits with cheddar flavor?

I do not know the answer but FYI, you can buy pre mix Red Lobster brand at the grocery store. The recipe calls for nearly a pound of butter.
