Receive and consider a notice of intent
I don't think that's the vote
But still worth mentioning

If there is no or little opposition, they will vote on it.

Are there details as to what the limits could be changed to?

All after one of the best speckled trout seasons in recent memories, what a fricking joke.

The limit needs to be reduced to 10 fish at 15"

We had a couple bad years from a high river. I dont think it needs to change. There are millions of specks out there.

Pretty sure that is the current regulation in MS. Just curious how much fatality from throwbacks that would cause. I would rather 10-15 fish and no size. Those 11-1/2” fish eat just fine

Looking forward to a good fall. Should be good imo.

Nothing published, but the department is pushing for 15/person and 13.5 inch size limit

MS is 15" and 15 fish. It used to be 13" and 15 fish. Going to 15" is completely ridiculous. Just about ensures that the vast majority of fish killed will be females while all the males are mostly under 15. Just stupid. As I argued my breathe out in MS if they are really concerned about the trout then they would do a slot of something like 12-18" with only 1 over or something along those lines. But as always it aint about the fish and never is. Sure is curious why commercial size didnt change in MS but rec did....hmmmm.....dont take to much common sense to figure that out.

Didn't realize the males stay small.
I wish if they changed something it would just be 1 thing at a time and see how it works. Reduce the limit but not the size.

Yet no matter how many they kill, those school trout are still there.
Almost like it’s a function of habitat or something.

Ima kill some after work this week so i can let ya know.
BL will see a yuge bump for the next couple years but it's just fools gold. The environmental damage to the lake isn't slowing down so we will be back to the down cycle soon after the boom. 10 & 13" will not hurt my feels nor 15 & 13.5" but erryone elses mileage may vary.

No def not. I and most folks I know MUCH prefer to eat 12-14" trout. IMO at 15" they start getting course and lose their flavor. So for lots of folks like me I would be keeping the first 15(or whatever the number is for the area) I caught that measured and be gone. So most of the time I would have a box full of 12-14" males with a few females mixed in. Now all those get let go and we keep fishing until we get enough 15" mostly all females to fill the need while a pile of those 12-14s that are released die anyways. Going to 15" does absolutely nothing but kill lots of big females that otherwise may not have been caught while also killing a lot of under 15s that are released. Then again it has made me stop fishing for specks as much and now I target flounder, white trout, and ground mullet way more than specks since I dont like the big ones anyways. Which IMO is the entire goal of all of this. Make the recreational guy stop fishing and get him to just buy fish instead of getting his own.
