Anybody else hear this? The thought of La. being a "destination" for deer hunting is laughable to me.

Are you kidding. We could have one of the best destination hunting environs around. Waterfowl in the morning, and trophy deer hunting in the evening. We just need to quit shooting every spike and four point we see.

antler restrictions statewide though because everyone should be able to police themselves
We have proven that we cant police ourselves.

Bad analogy. If you shot the doe before being bred , it results in the same thing. 0 deer born from that doe.

I used to think this too, but am starting to think there is something to it . In areas like mine, where our ratio is so out of whack, we have does not bred. If a buck has wasted his time breeding the one you shot, you do harm the herd a bit.

If you think cwd is spreading now, wait until you can’t take as many and see the wildlife that develops.

CWD spread like it did/does Bc of deer farms.

Well if thats what somebody likes and they pay the same taxes the rest of us do, who's to say which way is right? Just because Jackie bushman leans one way doesn't make it right.

One way never gives the other a chance.

Nah, I’ll choose to shoot what I want.

Nah, I'll run dogs where I want.

Nah, I'll run my boat how I want.

I have a dog club right next to me and they don’t bother me If they are trespassing that would be illegal in all forms, not just hunting. There is no reason to make shooting a smaller buck illegal, as of now it’s not. So your comparison has no standing on anything

The whole idea behind rack restrictions is that they allow more bucks to breed which increases the herds genetic diversity resulting in a healthier herd. It isn't just about shooting more instagram quality bucks.

For whatever reason everyone gets hung up on score with deer?!?
But yet most have no problem with 12 in speckle trout or not shooting jakes!!
Balancing a herd and being able see mature deer should be the goal, not some arbitrary BC score.

That doesn’t even make any sense and I passed up 3 does and a 6pt last week. But if I wanted to shoot I would have and it shouldn’t be against the law that I couldn’t

I doubt does go unbred. They just go in heat 28 days later. I have spotted fawns still in camera in December. The doe got bred, it just happened in February instead of December.

To each their own, but this South Lousianian passed up a 6 pt along with a couple other small bucks with his bow, on public land, in North LA....don't put all of us in that same bucket.

Roger that. Me too. Let many deer pass. Always

If they don’t go unbred they are bred so late that fawn mortality is super high and that sucks.
