Thinking of suppressing my .444. Currently have a dead air nomad 30 on my 308, and considering sticking with a dead air can for the big gun. Anyone have input on the dead air primal or another recommendation?

I have a primal and it seems to do fine. Not the best at anything but works well for most applications.

No experience with the Primal but I have a Griffin Armament Bushwacker 46 I shoot on a 450 Bushmaster and it works really well for that application. I personally would keep manufacturers the same so you could use the same muzzle devices for both cans. Kind of splitting hairs if you start chasing decibel ratings on different cans.

With all of the issues with Dead Air I would personally stay away. Silencer Central manufactures their own line for larger calibers, but you could also look at the TBAC 50 cal suppressor. I think SilencerCo also has a 45 caliber suppressor.

I have a Banish 30 and am currently waiting on the Banish 45 and 22. Probably 6-9 months out on that.

The Banish 30 is great on my 300 BO, 7.62x39 and rimfires. The Banish series is modular so you can use them full length or shorten them.

Want the Banish 45 for my Banshee.

TBAC 50 cal suppressor.

Naw, that is specifically designed for .50bmg sized cartridges and the rifles that go with them. It’s huge and nobody would put that on their normal guns. I use a rugged obsidian 45. It’s acceptable on .450 bushmaster. The TBAC Fly45 would be good. Bowers Vers would be a good one. Dead air would have been ok but they have sucked as a company this past year. Sico hybrid is ok.

What happened to them? I thought they were one of the top notch can manufacturers out there? I have all sico cans, but am looking to try another brand. I'm stuck between the deadair sandman K, Trashpanda, or Rugged radiant.

I wouldn’t buy another dead air for all the tea in China. Two years ago I filed paperwork for one 9 months later I got it. Had a VERY knowledgeable gunsmith mount the muzzle device timed properly. Without the can shite dead on 1/2” group at 100 yards. Attached the suppressor and couldn’t reliably hit a 4x8 sheet of plywood. There is NO phone number to contact them so I e mailed support. They said problem had to be on my end. I go to my gunsmith we re check everything it passes. So we shout multiple bullets all are all over the place. I reach out to support they agree to look at suppressor. They send back 3 months later state nothing is wrong…. So gunsmith and I take suppressor same issue still. The. Take three other suppressors that will fit in muzzle device shoot and patterns fine. Reach out to support say problem on my end. I finally ask them to call my gunsmith. They do and they agree to take another look. 4 months later I get the suppressor and it finally shoots right.

TLDR… bought dead air suppressor for it multiple returns and 10 months later it shoots right. Would NEVER buy another dead air.

That's crazy. I will steer clear of them. I have been partial to sico cans just because that's the first couple I bought and stuck with them so all my mounts would be interchangeable. I will say their customer service is incredible.

A buddy was hunting with a brand new 36M a few weeks back and it blew off his gun when fired for the first time. Had a baffle strike. So he brought it back to the camp and I have the same 36M can. His wouldn't lock on my gun or his, but mine would lock on his gun.

He reached out to sico and they sent him a RMA. Less than a week later he has a brand new can at his door. Same serial number, but all new everything.

I have had great success with Q that’s who I will stay with.

Except trying to find somewhat like you a can for a magnum round. For me a .300 WIN MAG not sure of best for it…

The seirra 5 rollout was horrible. Badly treated stellitle turned peoples cans into maracas. Dead air never publicly acknowledged the issue and took months to repair the cans. Lots of recent sandmans breaking too. The best can they make is the nomad series. Those are problem free but the other cans just suck and dead air takes forever to fix them.

I have a Silencerco Hybrid that I have mounted on a Marlin 45-70. I absolutely love it when using subsonic ammo (Hornady Subsonic 410 grain Sub-X). My daughter has been deer hunting with this set up since she was 8. Supersonic ammo is still loud and kicks like a mule though.

I've heard people say that it is a jack of all trades and a master of nothing, but disagree. With a 30 cal end cap i find it to be as quiet as my Omega when shooting a 30 cal rifle (.308,300BO, 300Win. Mag)

Have had no problems with my Dead Air mask or my Nomad L. In fact they have better sound suppression than my Silencerco suppressors. I thought moving it to my AR 6.5 Grendel would be a problem, because I don’t have an adjustable gas block, but no issues, cycled very well. The Nomad L is now my preferred suppressor on my thermal set up, it’s only draw back is size/weight, but suppression is much better than anything I have…and the 22 mask is legit
