For the money a Burris Fullfield II. Good glass and an outstanding warranty also well below $500.
I have owned an Old Country Wrangler offset for about 8 years now and it has been fantastic. Not as big as the Pecos model but has a thicker gauge metal. I have used the hell out that thing and it has held up great. Would suggest buying some Lava Lock stripping and seal up the doors and I moved the metal grating that sits atop the firebox to the bottom to set a firebox on.

I’m gonna have to throw Cane River and maybe Nantachie or Iatt lake on the list. And 15 or 20 years ago Saline lake outside Winnfield definitely makes the list. Just a very humble opinion of course.
Have a Gravely 52” HD that’s 10 years old and still going strong. Mow two acres once to twice a week when grass is growing and do not take it easy on it. Been a great mower having only performed general maintenance and replace the battery and a deck belt one time.

You got to get you a piroque and duck hunt out of that baw like God intended. Don’t be that guy
Really like the Citizen Promaster divers. They come in both Eco-Drive and automatic.

Gonna go out on a limb and say that I’m pretty sure if you zip a mofo at close range with a 55gr to 77gr bullet it really isn’t gonna matter what type of bullet it is. Fmj’s will get it done with clean pass through’s and at inside the house ranges a ballistic tip or the like will do the same. Just be aware you will be slinging bullets through walls as well even after passing through said intruder.
I’m pretty sure you have to have the HIP if you plan to hunt migratory birds. It’s easy to fill out and free wether you have a lifetime or not.
No experience with the two platforms mentioned but I had the same idea as you a few years back. Picked up a Christensen Arms Mesa in 6.5 as a budget rifle to cut paper. Been very pleased with the results since. Put a Nightforce 5-20x56 SHV scope on it, ladder tested some rounds and found the ones it liked. 41.6 grains of H4350 under a 140gr Hornaday eldm bullet 15 thousandths off the lands and I can get quarter inch groups 200 yards. It shoots much better than my ability’s. Haven’t had the opportunity to shoot to a thousand but can ring steel at 600 effortlessly.

I have a ZD18 Kubota that was bought brand new in 2000 making it 24 years old. Has mowed Louisiana twice over and the damn thing want die. No clue how many hours are on it because the counter went out in the high 2000’s. Still fires up and will mow anything you put in front of it. Have only serviced regularly, replaced the belt on the deck once in its lifetime, battery when needed and general stuff like scalp rollers. At the time it cost 10k and is the best 10k I’ve ever spent for a piece of equipment.
North Shreveport around Blanchard area isn’t bad. With I49 being completed through the area it makes Bossier and the rest of Shreveport very easily accessible with a very short commute. Also has blown up per se over the last couple of years and has pretty much everything you need very close such as super Walmart and several fast food restaurants. Lots of new housing and neighborhoods going up as well.

Anyone have any experience with the Griffin Armament MK2 rifles? Interested in maybe picking one up with a 14.5” barrel and have them pin and weld a mount on it for me. In my experience they make good equipment, just don’t have any experience with their rifles. Wondering how accurate they are and how much gas to the face you get when shooting suppressed.
No experience with the Primal but I have a Griffin Armament Bushwacker 46 I shoot on a 450 Bushmaster and it works really well for that application. I personally would keep manufacturers the same so you could use the same muzzle devices for both cans. Kind of splitting hairs if you start chasing decibel ratings on different cans.

30-06 has been killing shite and killing it well for well over a hundred years. Has probably killed more wild game and human targets than any other caliber on the planet. Every manufacturer out there makes a rifle chambered in it. Has a plethora of different ammo manufacturers for it and an unending bullet selection. Nothing wrong with any of the other calibers discussed they all serve a purpose and work but the tried and true aught 6 is gonna be hard to beat. This is just my very very humble opinion.

Either caliber would work but for straight up killing shite I would go 6.5 Grendel. I personally have one on a 6mm ARC and it does quite well. Only went with that caliber because I reload and have more bullet options to choose from.
As most of my hunting is done from a climbing stand, my set up is a 16” 450 Bushmaster AR and has been for roughly 8 years now. It has been devastating on deer and several unlucky hogs over the years. Short, light, can be slung in the front comfortably while packing a climber in and out of the woods and packs one hell of a punch. Picked up a Griffin Armament Bushwacker 46 suppressor for it last year and I couldn’t be happier.

Have the same motor but 2012 model. Has done and still does the same thing. Steams at low idle after warming up and after running WOT then shutting down or getting off throttle to putt around. Just something it does but has never been an issue. Motor still runs great. Try to service it once a year and replace water impeller. Have had it alarm on temp but that was when I figured out it’s best to service and change impeller every year.
Not 100% sure but I think that’s all private property. I believe that’s what is called Moon Lake now.
