Same as last week. Stacking up in drains with moving water coming in from the flats. I say the bite was tough, but we (I was fishing with a buddy) caught quite a few. Just a lot of small ones. And I caught one close to 3 lbs.

bayou close drains in to big alabama and then big alabama drains in to bayou des glaises. it is usually clear on the south end when the water is up. you can see the water color change on google images. I've never had much luck in there fishing.

About a month out from the opening of the pool. Im so ready. I gotta make sure to catch a bigger one than Pillage's two he caught last year at the burns. I got golf this weekend, then from here on out its fishing. Gotta get that 5+ this year.

fuarkkkkk we are that close to it? I was thinking of trying to get a burns permit this year. I caught one just under 7 at the pools last year and one of my buddies caught and ate a 9.5 lber. I was thinking of making a trip out to two cock bayou on Saturday but it might be too cold for me to want to fish.

Pillage caught 2 over six pounds last year in the one trip we made to the Burns. I dont think permits will be required this year.

I'm pretty sure that every dude on the OB that I've met or seen looks the same.

That’s generally the case every year.

Needs to come down a few more feet. Usually around April is when it starts heating up. At least, that has been my experience.

Yeah, I'm just impatient. I was looking at the Butte La Rose gauge data and last year at this time it was a lot lower than it is now.

I went to your favorite kayak fishing spot yesterday. Water was high but pretty good color in the close lake. I tried for sacalait with no luck. I didn't even bring any bass tackle, still kicking myself for that.

From what I've heard, they are catching perch in Martin right now. I may head to the bayou this coming Sunday, to try to stay out of the wind. The water temp. in Martin was 65 degrees last weekend. I'd image the bass are beginning to get up tight to the bank. The bayou might be a good location for that.

I caught one bass last weekend whose mouth was bloody, but I hooked him in the lip, so I know he didn't swallow the bait. Any idea why his mouth/throat had fresh blood similar to what it looks like when you gut hook one?
