put 1 on my front porch, where I never had one before. The Hummingbirds showed up in less than 10 minutes. That was pretty surprising.

Damn, we've only had one damn bird so far this year. Last year we have a good half dozen that would come around regularly.

Completely off topic. I believe I had a painted bunting at my feeder yesterday. Anyone seen one in Baton Rouge before?

Not sure where you’re at, but I have seen one bird at mine in Houston.

One of the slowest years we've ever had.

There have only been 2 here at once so far, I was just surprised that they found that feeder so fast.
I went out there and put it up, and my wife opened the blinds so she could watch. I told her "they won't find it for a couple of days probably" when I came back in the house. Just a few minutes later she said " They're here!" and laughed at me.

I don't know how many we had last year, they were coming and going so fast. They were swarming like bees on the back porch sometimes.

We had four or five around a few weeks ago but they seem to have left.

We have more hummingbirds this year than we have ever had. Wife planted several new flower/plants and they are wearing them out. Have not even filled up the feeders...

We usually have tons of them around our house in BR for a solid month or longer. This has been the fewest I recall seeing since we've lived here.

You are at Rayville, La. I guess? You are about 350 miles SW of me, so maybe they're headed this way.

I guess the weather might have some impact on their migration. This has been one of the coolest springs we've had in years.

Yea, I'm thinking the weather probably has them messed up. We haven't had this many in the 12 years I've lived at this house..

I’ve had 4 or 5 staying around my house in NELA for the last month or so. I’ve only got one feeder up but tons of hummingbird friendly flowers. I’ve been meaning to put up another feeder but haven’t gotten around to it

We live 30 minutes NE of Nashville. We’ve had several show up to feeders in the last two weeks.

To the poster asking about Painted Buntings, they are common around BR if you know where to look. Here in Tn, we have Indigo Buntings. Beautiful blue birds, with a sweet song.

We have a couple of feeders (one in front and one in back). The one in the back is just outside of our breakfast nook. A week or two ago we hadn't put our feeders out yet and a little black chinned flies up to the window while I'm sitting there as if to say, "Dude, I'm here. Where's my breakfast?"

We had the feeders out within a hour and they've been wearing them out.

Reminds me of 2011. From a cool May into early June went to 100F+ and didn't rain again until Nov.
