Looks like I'll be packing the .300 WBY for Elk this year.

shite, man, I'd like to take that trip just to get out there, hike and camp. Wyoming is friggin' beautiful.

I mean, if I'm not going to get to put a hole in an elk, I'd like to pay a lot less for the trip, but that's a great trip even without the elk.

Congratulations. I got a few days to finalize my Wyoming antelope draw. Nothing like waiting to the last minute.

Hell yeah. How many priority points did you have? I have a few for antelope and mule deer but no elk.

Did you put in for a couple of areas or just this particular one?

Got the email and got the draw. Will be interesting to see the total numbers applied can drawn with everything going on right now. My uncle told me last year was the first year people got turned away.

I had 2 points, I'll give everyone a tip on this. If you apply and really want it for that year you basically have to buy the "special" tag which is almost double the price of the standard license. Wyoming will fill the "special" tags before they go to the normal tags, it's all about the $$$$$$$$. Unfortunately crooked politics are everywhere nowdays.

You can also just buy a point in WY. Good thing to do while you go cut your teeth in colorado.

I didn’t draw my Wyoming cow elk tag. I did draw Montana deer so I will put in for some Wyoming antelope doe tags to make the drive worthwhile. I could put in for Montana mule deer doe tags but I don’t care for the taste of mule deer that much. Also Wyoming doesn’t sell tags to people paying the “special” tag fee before moving to regular priced tags. They put aside 40% of nonresident tags to those people willing to pay extra. You still have to draw the tag it just puts you in a pool with less people because less people are willing to pay extra.

Yep we were a group of 4 this year. I've gone for something like six years straight.

Their draw system is pretty wack. Applying with your group actually increases your odds.

Not to hijack this beautiful Wyoming thread (I did Idaho instead last year and am going to New Mexico this year but want to get back to WY for archery elk), but what KS unit did all you kansas guys draw in?
