It’s not real. An actual agent would know what boat(s) in that area are capable of taking out that many people. Hell, I’m sure we could all find it with a quick google search.

Then again, it’s an LA state official we’re talking out so incompetence isn’t far fetched.

I’m sorry, is Louisiana known for competence in state officials? Don’t let the truth hurt your feelings, you should demand more of them not stand up for them

Our Wildlife and Fisheries is not in the same basket as all the state officials. They have been working hard to combat these seasons for offshore fishing that we have been dealing with and help out the recreational offshore fishermen.

Relax guys. Those triggers are photoshopped into the pic. This was a test of a new recruitment exercise used to identify possible game warden candidates. Everyone that got their panties in a wad will be receiving their Junior Game Warden badges by mail, along with your own personal State/Federal fishing regulations decoder ring. Congratulations!

Based on this pic, Pretty sure I’m friends with the people that booked the charter, it’s a big boat but no name on the Facebook pictures

I wouldn't exactly go that far.... An audit released a couple of years ago suggests otherwise.

Your wildlife and fisheries division is as crooked as the rest of state departments

LINK

quote:

Louisiana’s legislative auditor found a lack of management oversight of funds and operations in the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries in the wake of the BP oil spill, including sampling operations in Venice that cost $2,796 per fish, more than $280,000 in clothing and uniforms with no uniform purchasing policy in place and a used $1.8 million airplane that could now cost the state more than $500,000 to repair.

Other audit findings include a $220,000 Catamaran used twice from 2012-16 that has cost $38,000 to maintain and repair, more than $54,000 in purchases by a Venice fish sampling team for equipment that is no longer in LDWF’s possession as well as two missing pistols, a missing rifle and a missing shotgun.

Lily white department you’ve got there. Get your feelings hurt and downvote all you want. Your state government is crooked as a question mark

Steve Tomeny has never really been known as a class act.

That's how you know whoever created the LDWF account isn't from LDWF. Tomeny I believe is the only captain who runs an operation like that.

Isn’t Steve out of the game now. Also, those are oceanic triggers, which are legal.

I think he is, but he's the only operation that I know that has a boat that big. Wonder if someone else operates it now.

The oceanic triggerfishes (Canthidermis spp.) are more oblong in shape than the grey triggerfish (Balistes capriscus) that are pictured in the original post.

Oceanic triggerfish are also pelagic and would not be caught in the same areas as red snapper, such as reefs, rigs, and hard bottom.

We have been in contact with the charter captain and he is cooperating. Thanks to everyone in this thread that is supporting LDWF.
