Mathews phase 4

In the saddle on the southern end of a 75 yard clearing. Saw some small bucks chasing does around yesterday. Hoping a good one will do it today. Does are fair game too as today is my last day of the season in yancey.
Got my brother and buddy set up a few hundred yards east and west of me. hopefully something comes by one, or all, of us.
Good luck baws, stay warm!

Light but steady NE wind - 5mph or so
Pop up blind in a creek bottom

Set the standup yesterday and like a dumbass I didn't sit in it - I'm on a slight bit of a slope and the folding camp chair keeps wanting to tip me over

Sitting at home.

There’s 4 inches of snow on the ground and still coming down. Roads here are pretty bad
And it’s 9 degrees out.

Anything moving for yall in this cold? We checked cameras yesterday and the deer keep showing up and partying during the night. There were 2 or 3 daytime pictures of does and that was it out of all the pics. Rough year of deer hunting overall.

Baptist Hospital, Jackson MS

4th day in the hospital instead of the blind. Two different mature 8 pointers showing up on my cell cameras as if to taunt me.

Y’all bag a couple, living vicariously through your posts. Be safe in this weather, especially you tree climbers.

Box stand. Climbed into my loc on then changed my mind real fast.

Finally getting pics of bucks cruising at night and heard chasing in the palmettos yesterday. Was starting to think the rut would never start.

Been on an antibiotic drip since Friday. I was stubborn about going to the ER, so things progressed further than they might have. I wanted to go hunting dammit!

I got solid food for lunch today for the first time since lunch on Thursday. If hospital food doesn’t purge me completely, nothing will.

Thanks for asking, wish I was out there. I’m usually one of those with y’all to the end.
