I was trying to take it easy on the kid. I don't want to discourage someone from hunting, just hunting incorrectly. It sounded like that was one of his first bow hunts and he might have gotten "buck fever". Hopefully he'll think twice about it next time, and hopefully he thought twice about it after we tried setting him straight. Moral of the story is that there are just too many variables to take a 50yd shot at a deer. It isn't all about killing something(well maybe).

Some people didn't grow up with family/relatives teaching them how to hunt and just base it off of super-sensationalized stories they hear, watch, and read. Real life is much different than that, and people have to accept learning new things

shite, I think the biggest rack I have seen on a deer was 9 points with a 16" spread and a basket rack 14. That bothers me none because I have no interest in being in competition with someone over some trivial bullshite like that. I like size/age, and bragging about shot placement.....subtracting 150 yards from the actual distance to make the other guys not feel bad

I would have backed down too, but he was being just as much of a little prick as myself a big prick.

I was wanting him to figure some things out on his own by my responses, yours and others, but I don't think it was working..

I was a stubborn know-it-all once......wait, I am still a stubborn know-it-all

I typically don't say anything when I have no idea wtf I am talking about, and just sit back, listen, and compare what I hear with logic. My roommate brags all day about being able to take 60 yard shots. Well, we brought out the bows last week and I smoked him at 25. Arrows are just unpredictable out that far. He is probably lurking, and I hope he took that info to heart and thought about it

Most lively IST to date!

I caught 8 bass out of the yak this morning. Biggest only 2 pounds but it was nice to be on the water for a short trip.

My hunt this morning played out perfectly. Watched a doe for about 10 minutes slowly work her way down the food plot to the feeder that was 20 yards from me. Had the crossbow ready, my Wang to stroke afterwards. She is right under the feeder and I'm just waiting for her to turn to get the perfect shot. Nerves calm I am thinking the shot over and over as she is slowly giving me a good shot .... MAYHEMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

the God damn feeder goes off right above her head and she takes off like a bat out of hell

I left

Just climbed up for the evening hunt. Baited the spot up for next weekend. Half sack of pecans, sack of corn scattered, swamp donkey block, half jug of molasses, half jug o persimmon jam

Hope that'll bring every pig for a mile in and I can start whacking them before real deer season begins in late Dec
