Only here for one of two bucks. Deer activity has been back up the last 2 days after 2 weeks of lockdown. Optimistic.

Had a young doe come in at 6:30 and feed around for 30 mins. She didnt know what to think of the rag smellin with estrus but it held her curiosity for 10 mins

Had a 6 pt in plot 2 days ago at 9:30 am and the nice 8 pt returned at night. Good to see daylight movement again.

Ended up shooting a doe. She came in solo. 20-30 minutes later they had a young 8 and 5 running around. This place has been a busy spot. No movement the last 3 days until after 9am.

Gun is officially picked up for the rest of the season. Time to get my first bow kill.

I am 80% decided on cutting out tomorrow afternoon to sit in a tree. Rain Saturday morning, but I'll probably go out anyway. Last weekend for us here, except youth weekend 13-14, but freezing rain is in the forecast so I might not be able to convince a boy to go.

Same stand he missed a good one last night, swapped chairs around, added some cushions to get him a little higher. Hoping at least a dumb little buck comes through.

That’s what I miss most about hunting box stands in the afternoon. The nice cold beers!

My son is not big into hunting. He’s come a few times in some ground blinds so I’m not investing in a nice box. I’ll keep climbing trees.
