Tikka is a great rifle. The only reason I did not purchase Tikka for my son is you have to move safety to fire in order to bolt the gun.

I went with the Weatherby Compact in 308. He will be 10 next month and is big for his age It has 3 position safety, can bolt gun while still on safety. It also comes with stock spacer as he gets older the gun will still fit him.

I just purchased the 407k green 6 Moa dot on 365x. I have the 507k red on all other pistols 2 MOA dot. I will say for close distances I like the larger dot so far. Also like the green dot more than red dot

Shoot with both eyes open. If you are in the Baton Rouge area. I highly suggest FRC shooting range Red Dot Optics training class.

Just bought 23 AT4 3.0. Not much negotiation from sticker. I was lucky I qualified for GM supplier discount 5700$ off MSRP. Had to haggle with them on trade in.

Looking at the Tika T3x Lite Compact in a 7mm-08. Anyone have this gun and happy with its performance? What ammo are you hunting with in this caliber ? He is big for his age 95lbs 4’-10”. He currently shoots 223 Ar-15. Just looking to upgrade.

Thanks for all of the suggestions and info.

The 3 position safety was an excellent point to bring up. Also wanting a gun that has the 1” spacer that you can add once he is older for the longer LOP For that reason I have narrowed it down to these two rifles

T/C Compass Compact 308
Weatherby Vanguard Compact 308

What are your thoughts on these two rifles
