Bruin is tough to fish in summer. We predominately fish white or yellow belly bandit crank baits and do most of our fishing at night on the lights
Probably going Friday night. Will let you know

People talking about night fishing has me itching to go. Throwing a cast net for shad in the dark from the boat is the closest thing to night fishing I've done in years.

A lake I grew up fishing on, Lake Henry north of Itta Bena, Ms you could only catch bass when it was 95 or hotter. It had to be miserable out. Usually a red shad color worm or chartreuse spinner.
I’d catch 20-30 in an hour, pouring sweat. During April-May lucky to catch 2. Weirdest shite ever

I went bass fishing on Saturday and caught nothing. I went white perch fishing on Monday and caught 30 with 15 keepers. I can’t figure out the bass right now either.

Bass fishing seems to suck everywhere right now but I’ve caught a few decent ones underneath docks, in the Lilly pads, and one in the middle of a sunken barge.
Had much better luck with bream and channel cats lately

Going to toledo bend this weekend. Anybody got some dynamite to sell?

Weightless plastic worm. I use trick worms this time of year. Also depends on what kind of water you are fishing. Reservoir is a different animal than a pond. In a pond, I have caught my largest summer Bass by locating the deepest channel(usually 10-14ft) and throwing a 3/4 oz jig with a trailer. I just work the channel. But I catch more (smaller)fish using weightless plastics in all locations with at least 3 feet of water depth. You need slower descent of the lure and slow retrieve.
I do the same on reservoirs but find structure like points, ledges, etc. and throw in a spinner bait option when there is a nice ripple on the top of the water.

Yea I'm just fishing Lake Bruin, which is a MS delta oxbow. I probably should have stated that in the OP, but have enjoyed reading the responses.
I think I will try pitching weightless worms/ trick worms under the docks this weekend. Usually do that w/ texas rigged brush hogs or shaky heads and get some bites, but it hasn't been working for me lately.

Buddy and I went to Millwood in SW Ar last Friday and caught around 40. Topwater bite was spotty but we managed to figure a crankbait deal out and it was on.

Toledo Bend has been tough for numbers but the size has been really good. We have been catching a lot of 5lb+ fish. But, Rayburn has been really good! Numbers and size! Deep cranking, jigging spoon, and a big worm

Caught 60 on topwater last weekend. Swimming a speed craw on top through Lilly pads. Didn’t matter time of day.
What state?
Parish/county?

Going to Cane River this weekend to throw at every dock I can. Summer is tough.
Gas at $4.50 has eliminated my saltwater trips for the moment. Cost me over $200 in gas last time I went to catch 7 keeper trout.

Only way I have caught there in this kind of heat was at night. I kinda miss those days.
Oh, and Terry claims you can get bit early on the shade side on a frog.

Yep. Frogs and plugs early then go back to the camp and eat breakfast and go throw docks during the heat of the day.
Its gonna be HOT!

Good luck. In this heat, I'm off the water by 10 am regardless of what the fish are doing.

I caught 8 this evening in a canal in Brazoria County, TX. Black buzzbait and red spinnerbait. They wanted nothing to do with anything else.
Caught them all around the edge of thick/heavy cover, hanging around in the shade.
