Is so, please tell me how. I have caught 2 bass in my last 3 trips. Have fished crank baits, rattle traps, shaky heads and my old standby brush hogs. Have thrown spooks and buzz baits early and late. Can't catch shite. How do you entice a post-spawn fish to bite? Tia

The only thing that kept me from a zero Saturday were the two tick-turds I caught on a crappie jig after giving up on bass fishing. Not a bite on anything else.

Where are you fishing? Is there a lot of pressure or boats around? I would understand during the day it may be difficult, but you should do well with soft-plastics/dark spinner baits in the evening. A senko or a frog in the lily pads in the morning....hold on!

Have you tried nets? Electricity?

Desperate times, something something

It's been slow but the ones I've caught were sticking tight to cover

Not much fishing pressure now but lots of rec boats on the water on the weekends. But I've been going out early when nobody is out there. Maybe I should just play golf.

Fished the full moon last week. Caught 4 bass and 1 channel cat. Fished from 8pm-4am.

I fish almost everyday and it seems it’s all about timing. I’ll catch 3-6 fish some days in less than an hour and then all of sudden nothing. Most days I’m getting skunked. I have no idea if they feed at certain times very quickly or if it’s just coincidence but that’s my observation.

Damnit man, we’ve been crushing them in the marsh. Had one of my better trips Saturday afternoon. Buddy and I limited in 1:20, all but 4 on topwater. Yesterday morning was slower, took us 2 hours to weed thru the dinks to get our 20.

You tried night fishing? I’ve had more success up that way at night when it gets this hot.

Well I'm glad to know it's not just me.

I started impersonating a bass fisherman last fall. Have done fairly well up until about a month ago. Now can't shite. Does this shitty summer time pattern typically last until it starts cooking down in the fall?

Same here. Had good luck at Sam Rayburn last year as well as some decent trips to TB after the spawn. This year can't catch one limit of keepers.

I'm skeered. Green jeans is out there at night harassing the kids and green light fisherman's. And come dark at the camp I'm typically over my legal limit to operate my water craft

I have had a week straight of limiting easy. This morning was bad. I had to report to trolling an umbrella rig to catch 3. At least they were all big.

they are just like you in this heat, slow and lethargic and staying tight under any shade they can find

in my experience you got maybe 1 hr after sunrise at best right now and then you can just head home

It seems Bruin is mentioned more as a cold weather bass lake than anything else.

That must be the case. I ripped them pretty good during the fall/winter.

Calcasieu and Sabine rivers have been red hot. Both rivers on white with redeye bandit crankbaits.

The heartbreaker of starting to take bass fishing more seriously is you find the best times to do it are when you’d otherwise be in a deer stand or chasing turkeys.
