Looking to upgrade from my shimano Cardiff 100a. Max budget 225. What would you recommend for trout and reds.

I have Shimano Curados and Garcia Orra Inshore. Both are great. Not sure if you can still get the Orra Inshore anymore.

I don't think you can, unless you find it somewhere online, but Abu Garcia now has a Revo X Inshore model to fill that niche that the Orra reels did. It runs in the $125 range.

Most of the reel manufacturers have an inshore model these days...Daiwa, Lew's, etc.

I "lucked" up by ordering the Revo gen. 3 Inshore reel from Cabela's as they were closing out their old stock. They were on clearance for $79, but got put on backorder. I kept following up with how that backorder was going to be filled, and they gave me the new model at that sale price. So, got a $250 reel for $80.

Orra SX

I have this Orra and have been pleasantly surprised with it and really like it. It's only used and salt and has held up better than more expensive reels.

Hmm...I feel like this one was on sale for $100 off in-store at Academy here in Baton Rouge as recently as Monday. Think it was going for $99.

In that range I would look for a deal on a Chronarch G. I have 4 and they are bad arse inshore reels. Cast a mile and super smooth.

inbox me username@gmail.com I have one i would part ways with that is flawless.

Other recommendation would be a Curado K

I had a Z and returned it, that said its the smoothest reel on the retrieve I've ever thrown but it makes the most God awful noise the the cast believe its the polymer they used in place of the bearings anyway
ended up with a 13 Concept C, couldn't be happier

but with that kind of budget alot of great reels on the market
Curado K
Concept C
Abu Garcia Revo SX
or 4 Abu Garcia Black Max low profiles

Ebay will probably do a 20% off coupon for black friday. If you can wait until then I'd get a Chronarch G and not think twice about it.

Does anyone know what the difference is between between the Curado K and the Curado 70?

I have a Curado E series that I still use and love, but got turned off on Shimano when the G series came out and they started mixing the chronarch and curado models.
