Lews Speed Mach vs Smoke Inshore vs Cedros.

Thoughts?

Haven't use any of those mentioned.

The "inshore" on baitcast reels is more marketing IMO. You'll be OK with reels not labeled as such. Hell, I've been throwing curados for the past 15 or so years and spray them down and typical maintenance and been just fine.

Sorry I can't help, just offering some advice to not limit yourself :)

Switched from Shimano to Lews several years ago, the Tournament Lite models are very good but my new Pro Ti is the best reel I've ever owned. Has held for nearly a year now of wading without being opened up and still cast a 1/16oz jig head as far as ever.

^yup. I've got probably 10 curados that I've slowly acquired through the years, latest model being the k which I love. They're all mostly used for inshore fishing and I cannot recommend a more durable reel. Shoot, I've got an old bantam that has to be over 15 years old that still throws like a dream and is used every trip. I just do routine maintenance and oiling.

I’d prefer to buy 2 SLX reels than 1 curado. Have one with Boca synthetic bearings that casts a country mile.

I've tried them all and prefer the 13 Concept C followed by the Daiwa Coastal 150. Wish they still made the Garcia Orra Inshore. That thing is bullet proof.....

Btw, just saw that Pro Ti is about $500. Yikes..

My favorite is a $40 combo from academy

They throw smooth, last a while, and you can go through roughly 10 before you reach the price of 1 other rod and reel marketed for inshore bait casting

man i really like the Lews. They're just at a good price point and undervalued i think. The Inshore Custom has quality action and features, but the standard Inshore is a great option if you need to clean house and get several new reels.

I've had mine for years and it is an absolute tank. Wish I would have bought more of them at the time. Currently my favorite inshore feel is the Daiwa Coastal SV. It takes smoothness to a whole new level.

As for OP, I would seriously consider a Lew's Tournament MB. My buddy guides big lake on a daily basis and he has been using a couple of those for years with no issues. About as bullet proof as you can get for that price range. Currently $120 at bass pro.

Some of you baws spend allot on reels to get full of salt... I have a hard time paying >$100.

I know allot dislike them, but my fav reel right now is the concept Z. I bought some on clearance for $90 last year.

Just switched all of mine to Lews Laser MG Speedspool. They're cheap, they're durable, they throw a mile and they're super easy to calibrate.

Literally first trip out with them, only got one backlash. Fixed it and the settings and then applied those to the rest of the reels and fished in and out of the wind for the rest of the day.

Can't speek to the others, but for 70-80 bucks, you can't beat these.

Last year or so, I ended up trying to buy a closeout of the old model Abu Garcia Inshore reel for $79 with Cabela's. It got put on back order because they ran out quickly, but my order was already in.

After a couple weeks of waiting, I contacted them and they fulfilled my order with the new model at the same price.

I should have bought two at the beginning...

I've got 3 Shimano Chronarchs that I absolutely abuse. Two of them are over 10 years old. Love those reels.

Old round Black Max. They just don't care about salt at all. Hard to find parts though. I need a couple handles.
