i had a choc for 12 years that died almost 3 years ago, and i still catch myself thinking about him in the am before a duck hunt.

I hear ya. My dogs are my children. When my last two died, I cried like a baby. Best wishes to you during this time.

Be thankful for the time you had with him, my friend. It happens sooner or later.
We had the worlds greatest chocolate lab, Gumbo! At a year and a half she ran into the side of a moving blazer - it was awful.
I feel your pain, dude.

Sorry to hear that, prayers are sent. I have an almost 5 year old GSD and he still acts like a puppy but he's my partner and a member of our family.

Those eyes are sad, but dignified.

Grace and prayers to you and him.

What a noble beast. Lost my lab Kramer day after thanksgiving in 2004 to a flipped stomach. Still remember the sad look in his eyes when they took him back for emergency surgery.

Godspeed.

Sucks to hear. Had to put one of mine down a few years ago due to the big c. He was only five. Hated to watch him go down and was very tough. Be strong and you will get through it and remember its for the best.

Sure coot killa will save you some time and heartache and do it for you for free.

Stay strong bud. Just know you were the best owner you could be.

And if you want to see just how awesome dogs are in our lives, read this. It may even help you laugh a little and remember the good times.
