Sorry to hear that. Nothing in the world quite like a good, loyal dog.

The OP needs to put the dog down. One of the hardest things to do. Had one that was a great dog and he came down with the big C. My daughter put him down. Oh, she is a Vet. Her and my son grew up with this dog. Sad day loosing a family menber.
I have another dog that getting close to his end. He is 14 years old, still hunts, but going blind.

Sorry for you and your dog. Longest 4 mile ride of my life was taking my yellow lab to the vet. He also had cancer, couldn't eat etc.. That was 6 years a 2 dogs ago and I still get misty when I think of him. It's hard cause you know he loves you as much as you love him. Gotta go can't write any more.

I'm really sorry to hear that. Hang in there I know its rough but it really is the best thing you can do for him. I will be a worthless mess when the day comes that I have to make that decision for one of my pups.

Gonna be a sad day. Love labs...hell I love mine more than I love most humans.
Their eyes can see right through a man. No better dog in the world, IMHO. I'll probably have to miss work a couple days when mine goes...I sure hope that's gonna be a long time from now.
Prayers for you and yours Pat...and it's been already said...but I believe it to (contrary to most religions)....all dogs goto heaven. I mean why else would the good Lord put them on this Earth and not have them for us in the afterlife?

I don't post much, but anytime I see something about one of the many dogs that are part of this "community", it makes me sad. I have been where you are now what seems like a bunch of times now at 40 years old. It never gets easier, but as others have pointed out, he had a great run,and you have great memories. Prayers sent...

I agree. I often wonder why he didn't make a dogs life longer. They're better beings than most people on this planet.

Sorry to hear this man
If he is suffering don't wait to put him down...you do not want his last few days to be painful or miserable. Have yall a nice meal, sit with him in his favorite spot for a few hours then put him down. I know what you are going through, I lost my dog of 15 years in December
:wah:
It does get better with time
