I am sitting outside drinking coffee and a Ruby Throated Hummingbird came to visit. I’m thinking it was one of the birds that hung around all last summer because he came and was hovering right in front of my face. He wasn’t scared at all.

They'll let you know they're ready for their necter. My dad said one was doing this outside his living room window. They do the same thing if he forgets to check the feeders, and they run out.

Hell yea you've got to love a nice cup of joe while watching them fly. I've been having them at the house for about 2 weeks now.

The couple that bought our house in South Alabama said two of them were visiting yesterday. I am in NW Arkansas now, so I may not see them.

Quite likely it is a repeat visitor. My wife is big into plants, butterflies, and hummingbirds so I defer to her studies. She has a had the same three show up for several years now (one who has no fear of her at all, and actually seems to come up to say HI every day), with occasional stragglers, apparently they live to be upwards of 10-12 years old, and are very much creatures of habit and repetition.

I installed a new outdoor video camera on the porch at the farm. I got a notification on my phone and took a look at the video and it was a hummingbird that set it off.
