Can you fit a sack of crawfish in it? If not why not use a wash tube and the basket and slosh them up and down?

This was my 1st time using it and it didn't clog. They also didnt have much grass. I could make them larger if that happens.

It fit a 35lb really easy

Good idea. I’d imagine you could rig one on an igloo cooler too. I believe these use garden hose 3/4” thread too.

I believe they do fit. I made this one mostly because it's easier to dump them out of a bucket than an ice chest like I always used.

Turn your holes in the top into half inch slots.

Put a 90 inside so the water spins.

It'll help get them cleaner.

That would work good while fileting fish too, I always have running water in a five gallon bucket and toss the filets in it to keep em washing until I'm ready to bag.

I usually just wrap the hose around the handle two loops though

I thought about that. I'm going to have to get a longer nipple to make that happen and a threaded 90. The inside only protrudes out about 1/2". I kind of like that because I'll be able to wash some oysters in it too and dont have to worry about then breaking the PVC. Also, we have really good water pressure heere, it gets pretty turbulent in the bucket when I got the hose pipe cracked back all the way.

If you want to get really outlandish, use a splitter and put three 90s in a vertical line. I have a similar setup with no lid.

Works well.

Good on you for making one but if you want to fit a full sack this is what I use.

Last 2 boils I showed up with this thing and was on hero status. Just dump them in and turn the hose on for 5-10 minutes. It stirs them for you and grass floats out

I feel like using one of those is almost like cheating.

My BIL and I discuss the cheating aspect every time we let it work it’s magic and drink our beer.

Mine has an 8in long pvc with a cap on the end, and holes drilled throughout for spray, and draining.

Cut some small slits in the bottom of that thing and its perfect. It will let the silt was out the bottom and the grass out the top.

I just put them in a large rectangular plastic storage bin and slosh them around with the hose on the bottom until the water runs clear. I don’t even remember buying the bin. Total cost, probably about $12.
