as has been widely speculated, the story is completely fabricated.

Saw this on texags and came to post too . It does seem a little odd the only charges so far are just 3rd degree felonies.

im not sure what new evidence came about, but i originally heard that the bullet that hit daughertery was too close to an artery to pull, so it would have to be left intact. that would be the key piece of forensics to shut down this case but looks like something else popped up.

the whole thing got really quiet once the lawyers got involved and i doubt we ever get the full story but anybody whose ever been on a guided hunt knows theres not much left to do after the sun sets but drink... and women, whiskey, and guns do not mix.

That's what I was kind of thinking. Out-of-towners, drunken stupidity and guns on the border; throw in some women for good measure.*

(*Disclaimer: I likes guns. I likes womenrz. I likes whiskey. I likes southwest Texas. I'm just saying some peoples gets the stupids when these things come together.)

He could have a Cuban, Puerto Rican or Dominican any day of the week in Florida. Even though they may be called "Mexicans" by the locals, and run "Mexican" restaurants, they are not the real thing. He wanted him a real, live, authentic Messican. And nothing was going to stand in his way.

This story seemed sketchy from the start. However, I know many ranches have a fire at will understanding with illegals. Illegals can be aggressive when they are tired, hungry and scared. In these remote areas, It can be you against them.
I've had a friend chased by illegals while turkey hunting. He didn't want to shoot them, but he feared his life.

So this guy pays thousands to come hunt there, and the guides shoot him??? Seems like a bad way to get repeat business for the ranch.
