Im usually able to shoot in the afternoons, if you want to try to get together.

I'm out there most every Friday afternoon doing the clays. Sometimes with friends, sometimes alone. You can set the machines to have a 2,3,4 second delay if you're by yourself. I won't be there this Friday, but feel free to bump the thread if someone wants to meet up out there.
Thanks, sounds great, Fridays are probably not a good day for me, but with daylight getting later maybe so, I will post something and see if anybody wants to make a trip
PS... I love to shoot, but I shoot like shite

You can't definitely do sporting clays by your self. Just press the button with it on the stand and mount your gun. Better that way anyway to practice smooth shoulder.

Got a new email
Looks like Ron Duplessis is going all in, will be awesome if it happens

The summer heat and rain has brought us long grass and good news! Hunter’s Run Gun Club is approaching confirmation of its new location. We are currently working with the land owner and crafting our agreement. This is on the same piece of property we discussed in our most recent update. It is very convenient from both Gonzales and the Baton Rouge metro. No need to cross the bridge to West Baton Rouge. As luck may have it, this property will likely be available in a primary and secondary acquisition. The primary property will be the landing spot for all members. It is a wonderful property with tons of character and natural beauty. It is large enough to hold a spacious clubhouse for our members and guests. It will hold 3 Trap/Skeet fields and 8-10 sporting clays stations. It will also hold the 600 yard rifle range as well as several 100 yard multi-purpose ranges that can be used for handgun, 3 gun, and a multitude of other training classes. In addition to these fields, the property has a state of the art training & classroom facility plus room for a FULL pro-shop to handle everything from basic shotgun club needs to full rifle cartridge reloading. This unique property has a bonus feature. A massive piece of nearby property that we are working on securing. This property is large enough to house an additional 20 sporting clays stations as well as 3 additional trap/skeet fields. The primary property is very nice, but this additional acreage will create an over-the-top experience for our members. Stay tuned as we work through the process and have more specific information to announce (hopefully very soon!)

Hopefully the pockets are deep enough to make this happen

Ron's pockets are plenty deep enough, I just hope he feels like reaching far enough in them

Anyone go out to Port Allen recently? I heard they knocked down the trees around the pond for some reason.

Yeah, lots of work going on around there.

Keith is trying to get approval to cross the RR tracks. The money he has put into and plans to put into that place has to be substantial. He is getting a zz bird machine installed as well as rebuilding all of the trap houses and putting double throwers in them. He said they cost $9k a piece.

Keith is a super nice guy. Did the fun shoot a couple weeks ago and talked with him for a little bit. He and the other guy, can't think of his name.

I shoot by myself like 4 out of every 5 times I shoot. You gotta accept that it is a little more difficult overall, particularly on clays that you need to shoot immediately after launching, but IMO it helps you out in the long run to crank up the difficulty a little. Particularly if you are practicing for wingshooting.
One last thing: if you are not normally a low-hold shooter (where you don't mount your gun until you call pull), it is going to throw you off your game a lot more, so if you have to shoot by yourself a lot, learn to shoot from a low-hold.

You can set the machines for up to a 4 second delay after you press the button to pull. Helps with shouldering when your alone
