I've had 3 Hummingbirds around my feeder for a couple of weeks. This morning I found more swarming around the feeder! Have counted about 14 total so far. Put up another feeder and they have about drained them both! Cool weather is coming soon!

same here...always a bully in the group...they have mid-air collisions with one dropping to the ground for a sec then back to it...
and they are consuming mass quantities of juice...

I have never seen this many! I have at least 14 between two feeders. It's like a mini war going outside.

I live in Clinton and took a photo this morning of about 40 hummers at my feeders. If I knew how to post a photo I would.

I was watering in some insecticide today and one just flew up to me and hovered next to me like he was waiting for me to finish with the hose.

For the last week or so I have had 10-20 at my 3 feeders most of the day. They consume about 40 ounces of sugar water a day. In N. MS with severe drought conditions. Very little rain since June has cut down on any flowers for them to feed on.

I'm in Kansas City, and unfortunately I'm seeing them slowly move out. Headed your way!

Fourteen, that's awesome. I have one feeder on the edge of my front porch. Was out there sweeping it off yesterday morning and got buzzed by the guy that guards it.
I swear I could feel his wings touch my ear.

I've had it happen a couple of other times. It scares me every time.

I had one fly into my open garage and try to feed on my red weed whacker hanging on the wall.

They fueling up baws. Go outside with a red hat on and sit real still, they'll land on your head man.

We've been seeing a couple here and there for a while but recently there about a dozen or two swarming. We put up 4 feeders and they still find a way to fight over them constantly.

This is the absolute peak for their numbers and I love watching them. Unfortunately their numbers will fall off real fast real soon so enjoy them now.

If you live anywhere near the coast leave a feeder out all winter. In the summer they are 99.99% Ruby-throat. If you are lucky enough to get a winter hummer they are most likely to be a different species. Baton Rouge is known as a winter refuge for visiting hummingbirds. One house in Tallahassee had 5 different species visiting at the same time. South Texas is great for winter hummingbirds.

Next week I'll be down in South America see some incredible ones. If I get any decent photos I'll post them.

Put up a feeder for my 90 year old grandfather & there were about 5 coming, now I have 6 feeders up. He probably has 15-20 that regularly feed, it's fun to sit & watch.
I have never seen so many in one yard.

Throw up a second feeder or two outside 10-15' away from the first feeder. This should help with getting multiple visitors.

I put up 2 feeders on the corner of my back porch in the spring. had a 5inch wide convoy of ants going up to my eve to get it. Had to take them down immediately.

Where do y'all put your feeders?
