Some Karen called the DNR about a bird trap that I use to trap non native species like sparrows and starlings that can be seen from the road. She called the DNR on the anonymous tip line and said that I was trapping barn swallows in the trap (which is about 400 feet off of the road) and said that she could "see through her binoculars" that it was a barn swallow. DNR agent came out to my property today and filed the claim as unfounded. People today....

Time to plant some marijuana in Karen’s yard.

Unfortunately I will probably never figure out who it is that filed the complaint. Oh well, lesson learned I suppose, just going to move the trap to a location on the property where Karens can't see it from the road so the next one can't file another bogus claim on me.

Hang something offensive on the trap that she will view with her binoculars and trigger her.

Go back to the location and scan 360 degrees with your bino's, Im sure she'll be looking back at you.

Piss on her. I'd move it so she can get a better view.

Yes, and that's totally legal. European starlings and house sparrows are non-native, invasive species that have no restrictions on trapping/disposal in my state. The irony, lost on the Karen i'm sure, is that this trapping I do gives native species, like the barn swallow she fraudulently claimed I trapped, a much better chance of thriving.

Get a decoy of an Ivory Billed Woodpecker and stick it in sight of the trap.
