Surely I thought this would have been posted here by now, but I searched and found nothing. Evidently this photo was taken in Louisiana somewhere

Screw you. They just about wiped out all the deer on my place and turkeys too!
Had someone come in with dogs and some people night hunting them SOBs. Just hope it helps.

The hog should have waited a few years.

Well do something about it.
I tell you what. That hog had mouths to feed and did something about it. Your turn.

People think it's all fun and games when hogs first show up until a hog population gets good and settled in their area.

Doing everything in my power to kill every one of those cock suckers. Had someone come in with dogs a couple weeks ago. They killed 14 in two nights. That is a very small dent in them, but it is a start. Besides that, all traps have been baited to try to catch as many as I can.

they know they're being hunted and will disappear for a short time. they will be back though once the "new" landowner hunts/runs them off of his place and back onto yours.

No doubt. Folks wanting to sport hunt these destructive bastards have no idea. And people turning them out and spreading them should be shot in the face.

Hey fishfighter, We don't have the hogs up here...yet. They're coming, though. My question to you and the OB is: What is the long term plan or solution for dealing with these hogs? There has to be a point where the national hog population is so big that some concerted, sanctioned, and massive effort HAS to be accepted and performed to either eradicate them entirely or, at least, reduce the population and keep it reduced to a manageable level. Does this mean the feds and states will launch some kind of serious eradication effort? Where is the tipping point when the problem becomes "only hogs and no other wild game" or "only hogs and unsustainable habitat and agricultural destruction"?

They've had a poison in the works for a while now. It contains a pork preservative that will kill pigs but not harm any other wildlife that eats it. Last I heard they were trying to develop a way to be able to feed it where its attractive to pigs and the cube or feed doesn't dissolve first time it rains.
People say you have to kill 80% of the population each year just to maintain the numbers. Everybody cant do that so even if you give them hell on your property, your neighbors place that gets over populated will just overflow onto you
