I have not. I've heard of some having great success and some hating it.
I don't see myself using it, I'd lose it with the quickness

THIS.
One reason I could just not bring myself to buying it.
That and plus it was $15 at Academy and I found better shite to buy.

I'm scared enough I'm gonna lose my yellow magic, and that thing floats.
Now way I'm spending $15 on something that sinks with exposed hooks. It will surely be lost.
Now, maybe for saltwater

My kids have each used an Alabama rig for bass , They work fine here in Alabama lakes, however, they drifted back to Texas rig plastic worms (Scuppernong??), medium dive Rapala DT6, Koppers Frog, Perfect jig, and Zoom Flukes, and the oldeSassy Shad.

You will need:
Bullet weights
Worm Hooks
3-4 packs of worms/brush hogs/lizards (the rest of the OB Boys can help you on color)Also flukes are the bomb as well. Also, get a couple of jigs and try and match the jig skirt to some trailers: that should take care of your soft plastics.
Get yourself a few spinnerbaits. I prefer light weight if I can get away with it. You'll want a white skirt, a solid chartreuse skirt, and a white/chartreuse mix skirt. Try double willow gold/silver on the white and double gold on the chartreuse
A couple of rat-l-traps: Your best bet is a gold/black combo, and I like to throw a rayburn red one.
Topwater: Stick to buzzbaits for now. white/black/chartreuse. Other than buzzbaits, tiny torpedoes are good post-spawn.
I'm not big on crankbaits, so let one of the other OBers tell you about those.
Also, the following are something every tacklebox should have:
1. Needlenose Plyers
2. Pocketknife
3. sunscreen
4. mosquito repellant
5. First Aid stuff (I keep a can of solarcaine and a couple of bandaids)
6. ReelMagic & Reel Oil (with a spinning reel, you won't need any oil)
7. Extra Line
Also, learn how to tie a polymer knot.
Good luck.

That's a lot of advice given the fact he never said what he was fishing for.

For this time of year for bass fishing I've been using a blue and chrome rattle trap and killing it. It's the reaction strike time of year so rattle traps, crank baits, jerk baits, lunker lures, ect. Soft plastics always work so have a bunch on hand. Texas rig with a 1/8 ounce bullet sinker. I use 3/0 hooks.

We will be fishing in Lake Charles/Big Lake/Calcasieu River/Toledo.
Lake Charles/Big Lake: Trout: jigheads 1/8 and 1/4 oz., different colors, chartreuse, white and red.
Small plastics Chartreuse and white or glow grub type.
Small Gulp grubs in glow or off white.
DOA fluke type baits in Charteuse glitter.
Gulp 3" shrimp in New Penny, Salt and Pepper and Glow.
Spoons gold and silver different sizes ..I like 1/2 oz and 3/4 oz.
DOA shrimp Gold glitter is my favorite, I like the heavier ones.
Popping corks weighted with the rattle inside.
Hooks ...long shank white perch ones work well.
Redfish: 3/0 - 5/0 Kahle hooks.
dead shrimp in moving currents- weirs/jetties.
Toledo Bend: Day: Zoom speed worms in watermelon candy/red.
Senko: watermelon red/glitter
Flukes: watermelon magic, watermelon red.
Get some spray chartreuse dye and spray the tail.
Spinnerbaits: white and chartreuse works the best for me.
Rat-L-Trap: Chrome/blue or Toledo Gold or any crawfish color.
Night: Red glitter black worms: any kind
basically my go to worm at night.
