Man, I had some pork sausage from NuNus yesterday with Steens and it was awesome. I would love to try it with Deer Sausage.

It is really good on a homemade pizza with bar bq sauce instead of tomato sauce.

Made a breakfast sausage that was a wild pork / deer mix with steens. It was great. You do not need that much steens in the batch either.

I do a deer breakfast sausage that I add maple syrup to. Put up 15 lbs Monday. It's good. I prefer a hot breakfast deer sausage but the kids tear that syrup sausage up.

If in the Baton Rouge area, Romeros in Central on Denham road does a very good jalapeno cheese with steen syrup, and a Cajun honey smoked sausage that are very good.
They are the up and comer in the area as far as deer processing.

Has anyone tried to make it at home? If not I’ll start with a small amount of syrup and work up. A little of that stuff seems to go a long way.
I’m making sausage next weekend and this would be a good addition for the kids and wife. I just mentioned it to her and she’s on board.

Riverside meats in plaquemine makes an amazing cane syrup sausage.

They are making me 40lbs of that mixed with jalapeno right now.

I'll probably be making some next weekend as well. I think I'll start with a small batch of meat first.
