Gun list for my 1 year old son

I have an 18 month old and last Christmas I decided I would buy him a new firearm while he's growing up.
I've got some ideas on firearms I'd like to get him at some point, but want input from others in case there are things I should be considering that I'm not.
It'll be a mix of shotgun/rifle/pistol. I'll probably be looking to spend between $500 on the bottom end and maybe $2,000 on the top end.
Year one was a Browning T-bolt. Not sure on year two yet. Any input is appreciated.

Benelli Montefeltro 20 ga. youth model with adult stock to replace as he gets older/bigger.

Gotta start with a Cricket baw!

That's a great idea.
I was kind of eyeing a SBE3 at spillway earlier this year, but was debating on it vs a 20ga.
Not sure about the recoil of an inertia vs gas though. I have an A300 20ga with KO and it's the smoothest shooting shotgun I've had.

I purchased a Savage 555 O/U 28 gauge shotgun a couple of years ago that both they and I love to shoot.

maybe start him with bb gun. teach him the importance of muzzle safety and eye protection. make sure he doesnt shoot his eye out.

A Ruger 10/22 would be a good one at some point

He has a bb gun.
Obviously, he's going to have a small collection before he's ever big enough to hold one. Not a gun safety discussion.

I just started shooting a 28ga last year. I love it. But I can definitely see the difference in my scores when I shoot it. Difference between 12 and 20 is negligible. Difference between 20 and 28 is real.

I got each of my boys a henry goldenboy 22 for their first christmas. They still haven't shot them yet (3 & 5yrs old). It's more of a sentimental thing for when they get older. Now my 5 year old has shot suppressed 10/22 and bb guns a lot already. I'm hesitant to give the 3 year old a nerf gun. He's gonna be a problem.

Red Ryder BB gun?
Might not even like hunting/shooting.

A Ruger Number 1 for his number one birthday.

Perfect! That way when he’s old enough he can get experience tweaking it to get it shooting 1 moa groups

I like the idea though. I was going to suggest looking for guns that might not be made anymore when he’s older, and the ruger no. 1 is, sadly, probably going to be one of them. I might have to get one as well, “for my son” of course.

Get one you want and you can hand it down when he’s a little older.
Must have a Glock 9mm in there!!

I got my first son a Henry Bigboy in 357 because I always called him big boy. It wasn’t because I’d always wanted one. I’m still debating on current 1 year old. I really liked the cz double barrel 410 someone posted about a few months ago.

Stevens single shot 410 set up for turkey hunting (if you turkey hunt). Can't wait for my oldest to start going with me in the spring.

Not sure what state you are in, but many states have good deals on lifetime hunting license before 2yrs old. I would be looking at that personally.
