Picked up an ATN X-Sight HD 3-12x. Its a digital Day/Night Scope. Just mounted on top of a Sig556. Been baiting the hogs up and taking the brother in law to "hopefully" shoot his first animal.

Also I forgot to mention it comes with an Iphone and Android App that can connect to the scope using Wifi. So using the App, I can see whatever the shooter is seeing. As well as do things like change his reticle. There are 3 Black, 3 Green, and 3 Red reticles to choose from. Or I can change it from day mode to night mode. Or it will record video of the mayhem.

Have you looked through it at night yet? Is it grainy? How far can you see with it?

What generation does the nightvision compare to? All it says is it's a generation: Smart HD Optics

I played with it last night and could see a little over 100-150 yards across a field. If there was something like a tree or animal it seemed to show up a lot farther than just baron land. I don't know much about the different gens of night vision so I cant tell you what it compares to. Maybe there is a review out there that can answer it. As far as being grainy during the day it isn't grainy at all. It has a focus on it like binoculars. The night mode can be either green like night vision or black and white. When I zoom all the way out, it gets grainy but around 100yards it isnt really that bad at all.

Also I know they make the illuminators that are bigger and more powerful than what came on this one. If I can kill something at 200yards I will be more than happy. If not, then I may try one of those more powerful illuminators. I call it an illuminator, cause I don't know the real name of it.

That is actually a Remington Industrial Shell. It is an 8 gauge slug. My pawpaw used to shoot that in a mill to knock stuff off of the inside of huge containers.

Comparison to a 12gauge 2 3/4" shell.

I've got an old eight gauge shell, but it is waxed paper instead of plastic. I need to find though. My workbench isn't that organized.
