Tracks and Nilgai shite all over the place hoping one of the big bulls slips up. The bucks seem to be chasing and most of the mature bucks are MIA.

My dumbass forgot to bring coolers

fricker just showed up and I had him but it was a far shot and it’s late as shite. Started to put the crosshairs on him and he walked off into the brush

Probably better off waiting because I couldn’t really see his horns that well but it was a mature dark bull.

I know absolutely nothing about those. Good table fair?

Aren’t they huge?

Shooting that big fricker right at dark is risky. Without a tracking dog, late night tracking sucks.

Yeah that’s another reason I held off plus it was around 220 yards right at dark. I was going to put a few bullets in him though

Never had this but heard it was tasty. One day I'm going to figure out how to get one.

I’ve had it several times. I think the people that say it is delicious are full of shite. It’s delicious the same way that coon, nutria, and snow geese are delicious.

Well I have only had it twice, both times it was backstrap, and both times it was delicious. I suppose u could kill one that has a bad flavor, just like hogs, some good, some not. Snow goose is awful, unless cooked in gumbo. A good gumbo cook can make any meat taste good. I always said I eat geese because they are fun to shoot, I don't don't shoot them because I think they taste good. I have read many comments where people rank nilgai as better than axis; I have killed and eaten several axis over several years and it is always delicious.
