I know a couple of people who have gotten theirs from some breeder in Tennessee and they were all good looking dogs

I got one from a guy in the Beaumont, TX area...however I'll say this: Be careful. I think the blood lines were too close. My golden only lasted 2.5 years before we had to put him down due to grand mal seizures. I think the breeder's name had "Rose" in it.
Good dog...I just couldn't deal with him losing his mind and control of his bodily functions (even on phenobarbital).

If you want one with full AKC papers and all of the necessary clearances, be prepared to pay $1800-$2500 from a reputable breeder. We have a 4 month old golden that we purchased from a backyard breeder, but we weren't looking to breed it, show it or hunt with it. We were just looking for a good family pet. So far everything is going well and the dog is great.

So this breeder is in Wyoming..... Guess you gotta factor in the cost of travel when buying from them. Does one "ship" a dog? I'm sure it would be best to go and pick it out yourself.

My friend owns Hunnington. They are fine dogs and they ship them all over the country as well as internationally.
