Getting rid of wasps in eaves

This early in the year I already have dozens of those red mofos swarming around the second story eaves of my house. They are all over the front of the house - had 4 on my front door yesterday and couldn’t get in my damn house. The “25 feet” wasp spray is about 2 feet short of reaching where they gather in numbers. Hesitant to call an exterminator yet because I doubt the nests are even established this early in the year. Anyone have any solutions other than standing around with a can of wasp spray and hitting the ones that land somewhere low enough? I’m guessing an exterminator is going to be pricey dealing with stuff that high up.

I believe they make extension poles for spray cans. Should be able to pick one up at Home Depot, Lowes, Amazon, etc.

Pretty sure we've all tried that at one time or another. Why not use a hose and nozzle to flush them off the nest with water. Then climb the ladder and spray the schit out of the nest with wasp spray, or remove the nest completely.

Use your kid's supersoaker. Add dishwashing liquid to the water.

There are no visible nests - even when they were everywhere last year, no nests that I could see. Has to be behind the soffit.

I understand. Have a 2 story eave over front door that is partially enclose by a brick facade on second story. In the past had to get up on a ladder to spray with wasp spray.
Get you a kids water blaster, super soaker, or even a $4 splash stick. Basically just a big arse plunger. Mix up some spectracide, stick that dude in the bucket and suck it up.
Hit those bastards at 25 feet straight up with full quart of bug killer and get out of the way. Guarantee you it will hit 25 feet up with force and volume. So much volume that even if you miss the nest and hit to the side of it they are going to get drenched. You will get good at it after a few times. You can walk around the perimeter of a 2 story house and hit that eave from the ground without any issues at all.
Just mark the toy well and keep it in the garage away from any kids you have.

There is a powder that you can blow in to the entrance that they're using to get in. When they enter the hole where you put the powder the powder gets on the wasp and they track it to the nest which in turn kills the whole nest. I forget the name I'll have to look when I get home.

I had a neighbor that painted the ceiling of his carport a light shade of blue. He claimed it was to keep the wasp and birds away since they thought it was open to the sky. It seemed to work for him.

I've not had any issues with wasps building nests with blue eaves and porch ceilings and I've been in my present house for 29 years now.

I have the same issue, they hibernate in the eaves and attic for winter then come out on warm days.
