Yep. My next boat will be dark green or dark navy with cream/tan deck and brown upholstery.

I’m telling you it’ll be at minimum a year before it’s in the water

T-7 days till glassing. Haven’t don’t much since there isn’t a ton to do between now and then.

Organized all the cut pieces of cloth.

Also put tape down in all the areas that once glassed and flipped I will go back and grind out the foam and then thicken back with multiple layers of something like 1708.

I’ve seen enough issues with the trailer bow catch and bow eye that I want it the be straight glass. Figure the front section of the keel to be all glass couldn’t be the worst thing either.

Also got where the trim tabs will mount to make all glass.

you could easily glass in some aluminum plate for the bow eye and trim tabs

Yeaah it’s funny you say that.

I’ve always heard you shouldn’t glass in aluminum because it will expand and contract and cause issues.

Literally today on island boatworks Instagram he showed the aftermath of maverick skiffs insetting aluminum plate for exacly this.

Most people recommend if needing support either to leave the aluminum plate on outside of glass or utilize fiberglass plate.

You plan on doing a transducer? If you are, and want to do a shoot through hull one, it needs a solid glass pad. Can’t shoot through foam/coring.

You probably aren’t so it won’t matter, but just a thought.

Yeah if a ducer ever goes on it’d be on the transom. I’m actualy not sure the ducer will shoot through basalt think I would have to layup a patch of standard eglass

That’s what I figured. Only thing I could think of that would really need to be solid glass so figured I would mention it.

Looking good so far

If you want to read depth at speed, my experience has been I needed a shoot through hull ducer. But that could also be bc maybe I'm just bad at mounting transom transducers.

Have had good luck with cut in transducers like the b175s in offshore boats.

But this boats built for running in little water and ideally poling in 7-8” sightfishing. Not a ton of use for a ducer unless someone gets the boat and wants to use it like a bay boat (trolling motor, livewell, power pole etc…) at that point don’t get a poling skiff lol. But to check that box one can can easily be put on the transom

It needs to be in the water obviously, and helps to be slightly angled forward. It won't work with too much aeration.
