I'd tell him to delete that FB post, first of all. Then, as long as he, and his friend who dropped the deer off to the processor have their stories straight, they should be ok. Then I'd tell him to stop hunting without a fricking license.

Yea I bet a huge portion of busts are due to people putting stuff on social media or the internet.

Asking how to avoid getting in trouble for shooting deer without a license is a pretty good way to attract some attention

OP, at this point your brother needs to fes up. If they're asking, they already know (somebody probably let it slip). If they didn't already know, they've probably read this and know now. Better to pay up and deal with the penalty than worry about it.

Step 1. Confirm the suspicions of the game warden on a heavily trafficked message board dedicated to the outdoors where multiple game wardens/feds lurk and post.

OP's post really narrowed the location down, the kid is obviously in the United States, there cant be more than one kid that has shot a deer in the U.S. without a license, game wardens will be knocking on the kid's door shortly.

Yea there was a FB photo of him with the deer I think.

Seen the exact same thing happen on North Woods Law and I'd bet a good number of people get busted simply because they can't resist showing off on Facebook.

His friend is the one who turned the deer into the processor.

Was the deer untagged when he brought it to the processor? If not, why would the processor have been suspicious?

Yup never understood the allure of doing so, but then again I'm not on social media.

Thanks for your non-judgemental input. He's calling them this afternoon to talk to them to take his licks which is a damn good start.

Appreciate the inputs fellas

I'm not one to side with an outlaw but this. He should turn himself in though if he is feeling guilty.

For sure. The op is vague with the whereabouts.

But they could request IP data from this site. Correlate that data with his location through his internet provider. And lastly, establish that the OP and the perp are indeed brothers.

Line up all of those pieces and you have written testimony of guilt from a family member.

All for a deer. Would do the same for a damn dog too.

Thanks taxpayers.

Mississippi ticket for hunting without a license is like $1,600

good gad. I may or may not of hunted from time to time with an expired license. Don't think I'll be doing that anymore. Figured it would be a few hundred bucks or something.

Yeah, I'm not trying to screw with the OP. We are all somewhat anonymous with each other, but if the government wants to know where you are posting from physically they can find out.

Tell the truth. Don't dig a deeper hole. Chalk it up to growing up and learning a life lesson.

I just looked it up. Back in my poor college days I may have done the same thing as you. It's a 1000 dollar fine for non residents and you can lose hunting privileges unless you have proof of a license on the day of your hearing. you still have to pay the fine.

for residents it is a 500 dollar fine that drops to 100 if you show proof of license and case is thrown out if you have proof it was purchased before the infraction.

Mississippi really hates out of state hunters.

Game wardens have it easy these days with the cucks posting everything to social media

I will also say that game wardens can never donright in the eyes of most. If they are sitting at the boat ramp, people get mad that they should be out on the water not at the ramp

If they are checking people on the water, people get mad and say they are ruining their fishing/hunting

No win situation

Social media is being patrolled heavily. Many outlaws can’t resist posting kill pics. Easy to track.

Good. Hopefully he shot it with an old worthless meaningless rifle and has already ate the whole deer.

Yes, they do frequently show up asking questions. They're at our camp a good bit. If there's signs of a deer killed recently, they'll ask who what when where etc.
When I come across a Game Warden on water, woods, etc. I ask," Sir, what would you like to see?" I will show them whatever they ask for but will not engage in conversation.
