Just got home. That is a garbage arse camera. My cell phone can take better videos. Cant even see it rolling coal(the best part IMO)

Yea the camera blows. They just had a run of 797hp. Upping the timing and about to run again to try to break the 800 mark. I honestly thought this thing would be toast by now.

Not too impressed with their skills. I have seen dyno numbers of 1041hp on a NA 6.4 ans 1850 with nitrous in the same motor. They are doing it wrong, and are cheating their way to bigger #'s.

So the tranny failed at 884, wow.
Posted on 2/28/13 at 3:56 pm to Hammertime
Yea but they're not really trying to see exactly how much power they can make, they're trying to see how much power they can make before something fails. They just pulled 884hp/1674tq and the tranny just let go. They're mainly looking to test the internals of the engine. I figured by now a rod would have made a nice sunroof in the block, or blew a head gasket but everything has held.
ETA: And you're also talking about a built up 6.4 versus a mainly stock 6.7.

Sounds like my F150.

I would have much preferred see them kill the engine. Take a stock motor and run the fricker until it grenades itself.

Must be an EcoBoost.
They said they're going to swap the tranny and injectors and see how it'll do around 1000 next week. 884 on stock injectors, and all stock internals is mighty impressive.

That's their intentions until the tranny took a dump.

did it blow?
Negative. Tranny burnt up at 884hp. Truck still started/idled/revved just fine.

Yeah, wasn't the bottom end stock?

6.2
100% stock, except some bumper stickers.

bumper stickers.
Adds 50hp, easy, 100 if one is a Yeti sticker.

Yep, engine was as it came from the showroom, all stock internals. Only mods were an upgraded single turbo(factory turbo seems to have an occasional issue once tuned a little hot), upgraded high pressure fuel system, tuning and of course lots of spray.

Do I win a prize for guessing correctly?
Sure as hell looked to me like they were trying to showcase parts and their tunes.
Torture tests are designed differently for a reason. Should've been a mix of everything to get a real test. 1800 on the EGT isn't anything if you run it for 10 seconds. Hit those numbers for a couple of minutes and you have problems big time. Just think how differently the torture test would've turned out if it was a sustained load and torque convertor locked up

They should've Planned ahead for that.
Build the tranny up just enough, don't even tune the motor. Just run it until it dies.

I fully understand. Just because they can hit those flashy number for a brief instant doesn't mean that the engine would hold up over extended time in the real world.

As in put it on the dyno in realitively stock form and just see how many miles it'll rack up before something lets go?
Their way looks like more fun.
