I'm going to be out fishing every day, even though the temps are out of control. I'll be off the water by around 19, so not hot fishing anyway.

Be taking my BIL along with my wife tomorrow (I banned him from my boat for 14 months for being a baby). Hope to get on fish by 6:39 and stack them up until 9:30.

Took just me and my 18 year old stepdaughter out on Wednesday and we absolutely slayed them. I was throwing slabs and I had caught some good threadfin shad for her to live bait fish. Limited by 8:15.

Here's to taking people fishing with you, even if you'd rather be solo, or just with the wife.

I'll be giving Toledo a try for the first time and in 100+ degree heat. Expectations will be limited as it will be a new experience, but the boys want to fish. I only have a few years left that they want to actually spend time with their pops, so need to make the most of it.

Good luck. I hope you guys crush em.

Even though my stepdaughter has a million other interests, she's always willing to go out and catch them. Yours will be the same.

Boat work on Saturday. Might try and rustle up some flat fish on Sunday.

Headed to GI Saturday evening to fish Sunday morning with a couple buddies. Doing some scouting for next weekend when I'm taking some clients fishing.

My BIL didn't end up going, so it was just my wife and I. Caught 16, 4 short of a limit and it started getting warm so we called it a day. I caught a big striper today, biggest one of the year.

Definitely ready for cooler weather because it's been too long since I've been able to drag baits with planers for big blues. All of the big blues leave the lake and head up the Red and Washita Rivers until about October.

Where do you do this? I see reports from a guy doing it somewhat close to me, but I have never tried it.

I know a guy from baton rough that drives up to saline and Larto to do it. Uses planar boards and goes .7mph with the trolling motor. Custom painted bandit 300’s.

Any lake that has a good amount of open water.
Run 6-8 rods. Once it gets hot as it is now it’s really the best method I’ve found.

Caught 15 nice ones between my wife and I. Heading in before the hear and a lot of boat traffic.

Can you provide any insight on fishing the area? I plan on starting a thread later this week. we have a camp rented for a week in August and I haven’t fished down there since we got rid of our camp in Montegut 20 years ago!

Was hoping to take my 16 year old before school starts out of St Bernard. Is water too hot? Seems like the water temp everywhere is nuts

Took a trip to Lake Borgne to run F250 for a good hour straight after I replaced a cam sensor…. ran some crab lines and caught my first triple tail.Didn’t catch much else.

Will definitely do that again.

Leaving out of Destin tomorrow afternoon for an overnight. White Marlin have been white hot.

No other more skilled mates could make the trip so hopefully I don’t miss too many bites.

Trying to get the owner a blue if one will show up. Really hoping it goes well and he gets excited about something other than snapper fishing lol. He’s looking hard at an 80 maybe a good trip will make him pull the trigger lol.

Put my 9yo on his first cobia the other day - about whipped him, but he made it happen. Went for a ride yesterday and only found 1 keeper tripletail. Took the family to Ship Island today. Water is incredible out there this summer with the lack of rain.

I had an impromptu trip out of Pass Christian yesterday morning. We took a ride to the Biloxi Marsh and caught trout all morning. 3 fishermen, each cast was either a miss, 11” trout, or keeper. Deeper water was the key for keepers. 6-8’ and ended with 36 specs 14” or better.
