Did he really?
Looks more like he learned a valuable lesson.

The Fishers of Men National Tournament Trail is supposed to be about catching bass and loving thy neighbor. But things turned sour on Millers Ferry Reservoir near Camden, Alabama, when Chris Pope and Craig Hamilton turned their boat around near Ronald Morgan’s two-story, multi-slip dock. The March 18 incident resulted in two misdemeanor charges last week for Morgan, who confronted Pope and Hamilton with a shotgun, Wired2Fish reports.

A lot of baws on here talk real bad about fishing other people's property.
A lot of idiots on here think they own the water, this old man found out he does not.

This was in Alabama, most of the baws here are not in Alabama.

The most effective solution to making sure people don't fish around your dock is to dig a private lake and build one there.

That is a beautiful dock.
I put pvc structure in front of mine. I welcome fishers to fish.

I have underwater lights on my dock. They held good fish and were fished often. But some Baw stole my small outboard. Turned lights off. Nobody fishes my dock much anymore.
I have a security cam now for the Baw that stole my engine. And next time I will weld it to the transom.

Docks are private for using the dock. The water around the dock is not private it’s public, so like it or not people can fish around it.

It amazes how many people don’t understand how public land and water works.
The worst is duck hunting public land. My God I swore I’ll never do that again, bunch of fricking retards trying to kill each other over a duck hole

I know how public water works. But they lost my goodwill and I will not make it any easier to catch fish off my dock brush piles/lights. When they do come to fish I can bullshite with them using the microphone function on my Ring security camera.

Do you remember the dog they had that could climb up a ladder?
Anyway, if I owned a dock and it got a lot of fishing pressure, I’d devise some sort of lure trap and place it somewhere inaccessible to the boat. Maybe a bundle of chicken wire attached to a piling so it can’t be pulled up by some joker using heavy braid. Every so often, check it for free lures.

As one who has owned property with a dock on Grand Isle for many years, I certainly understand that the public has a right to fish in any public waters. Now, those of us who own those docks have spent considerable time, effort and money to build, maintain, repair those docks. If you don't own one in a place like Grand Isle that takes a beating regularly from Hurricanes, you really don't understand how much goes into one. I can tell you that it is a little aggravating when you are fishing from your dock, under your light, and some inconsiderate fisherman comes rolling in with a boat casting under the light. Kind of like the pot lickers that we all gripe about when fishing from a boat. Most of the time, a little common courtesy will go a long way. If I am not fishing, I don't really care if anyone fishes from a boat or kayak under my light. However, if I am fishing, why not just ask politely if I would mind if they fish? Again, I understand that they can fish anywhere in public waters, and I don't control the area, however just a little common courtesy (something lacking in today's society) would certainly be appreciated. Downvote away.
