Event where they shoot paper targets for accuracy and time. Each stage is typically 30 shots or so. Shooter moves to get clear shot on target. Tons of YouTubes.

You want to rapid fire then you need to go to a Training range.
First time I have ever heard this.

I am a NRA certified Chief RSO. It is a hobby so I work at some ranges to offset shooting costs such as ammo and range fees. Most ranges are shooting ranges and operate to stricter shooting rules...no rapid fire, no quick draw etc....This is a safety measure that allows target shooters to concentrate on accuracy without the weekend warrior blasting his Glock or AR/AK constantly next to him. It is also an insurance/liability issue. We have more target shooters than we do people wanting to go full bore mode.
Training ranges will most likely have an RSO on your hip pocket while you rapid fire or run a course.
Our range has a special separate range for training. We allow LEO, Military, ex-Military etc to go full John Wick. If an individual is none of the above we will let an RSO accompany them to the training range and check their capability, give them some tips and try to let them have fun.

CORRECTION: You are correct about the rapid fire rule at Range USA -- I replied earlier saying there isn't one. I went there 2 days ago and saw message on the flat screen monitor - "no rapid fire allowed."
Since no one had mentioned it on my first visit, and since I shot sorta fast that day, I spoke with the manager. He said "sighted fire," such as double taps are OK. They don't allow spray & pray rapid fire. He said if the RSO is seeing good groups, there isn't a problem.

Damn. That's what I pay for an hour at a range in Jackson. Actually it's $30 an hour if not a member at our ranges

I've been a member at Precision for over 15 years (probably 20 - haven't been keeping count). The staff's attention to safety has slowly been going downhill during that time (with the notable exception of the period when Mark was manager). But the recent management change really shows a lack of concern by the owners about safety.
Range USA is about 10 minutes farther for me to drive compared to Precision. For me that's not too much of an inconvenience for access to a much safer, much cleaner range.

Thats 15-20 years longer than me. Worst indoor range in LA. Saftey is an afterthought, at best. Acted like they were doing me a favor taking my money. Ive heard nothing but bad things about the new owners either.

I am the morning manager on the weekends. If you give me about a two days notice, I can get a group of 20-30 in for free and possibly some free ammo as well. Make sure to give me a call ahead of time and ask for Marcus.
I am making all this up. Sorry.

Definitely the rule at MOST professionally run ranges. It may vary slightly here to there.
At our range we allow Sighted Double Taps at the rifle line ONLY. No mag dumps or even 3 round bursts.
However, because we allow automatic fire on our 25yd pistol line, we allow bursts, mag dumps, binary triggers, gat-triggers, and basically any legal form of simulated automatic/automatic fire. The one thing we don't allow, because they're "illegally outlawed" by the ATF, is bump stocks.

Totally agree. We are sometimes criticized for not being a "fun" range due to some of our rules. I personally like being a little stricter for obvious safety reasons. Like I said, we have a training range set up for the the tactical folk to shoot....not everyone is allowed there.
We are looking for another full time RSO if you are interested to locating to nowhere Alabama.

Styx River shooting center. Off I-10 Wilcox exit. Halfway between Pcola and Mobile. Ever in the area and want to shoot, just stop in. Free range fee on me. Just tell the cashier to put it on Buddy's tab. I have a couple full auto HK MP5 and HK 53 you are more than welcome to shoot as long as you provide ammo.
