This kid - he's a senior at Catholic High (I think). He has delivered wood to us the past few years - very responsive, polite, delivers and stacks, etc...

225 - 247 - 0928.

I got his number from the Outdoor Board a couple of years ago. If someone knows his name, my number is incorrect, etcc - please correct me

I've always used Ascension tree and stump.

1/4 cord pick up $100 delivered $160

1/2 cord pick up $180 delivered $260

1 Cord pick up $340 delivered $460

Also has pecan if you want that.

this is Wade. He is a freshman at LSU and I think he is still doing it. Great enterprising kid.

Yep, Dion is good people. He was my go to firewood person when I lived in AP. Not sure if he still does it but his price was the same for all lengths of split wood. I was running a wood heater that would only take 14" wood max length. Dion preferred to not cut wood that length so he told me...'just buy longer wood and cut it in half, that way you get 2 for 1'.
I would buy 24" - 26" wood and use a small electric chainsaw to cut the piece in half.

Doubt anyone else would have made that suggestion to a customer.

I got a guy in the Grosse Tete area who is $100 per half face cord.

He doesn't deliver anymore, he doesn't even answer the phone, but if you head south right off the interstate he's down about 4 miles on the left. Has it all stacked by his driveway.

That's damned near cheaper than I can cut and split it myself.

Good on him. I paid for a lot of books with firewood when I was in school.

that ain’t cheap where I’m sitting. Face cord is 1/3 a cord (4x8x16”)…so 100 bucks for half of that (4x4) ?

4ft tall, 8ft long. Single stack. $100

If you have someone cheaper, I'm all ears.

Everyone on this side of the river until you go north is 3-400 per face cord. Essentially double.

Eta: apparently there is a difference between a half cord and a face cord... Which I never knew. He cuts 22-24 inches. So I guess he's technically selling half cords for 100

gotcha

“Face cord” isn’t really a standard measure anyway. As you said it depends greatly on the length of the cut pieces

If using standard 16” pieces a face cord is 1/3 of a full cord which would be 4x8x48”. It’s the “face” of a full cord
