Just got a Streamlight Microstream this week. Size of an ink pen and 300 lumens. Like it so far.

I've had a Klarus G15 V2 for about a year now. Took it on a camping trip this weekend and all the different brightness settings were great. There's a high/medium/low you can cycle through by holding the power switch down. And if you turn it off and then hold the switch, it comes back on with a super low setting, like 10-15 lumens. Enough to see a few things in a dark tent without waking anyone up. Then there's a turbo mode that is blinding and never really necessary, but it is there if you need it. Charges with a USB-C cord and great battery life.

Can double as a phone charger if you need it. I basically needed something that can make it through sporadic use in a weekend without worrying with batteries.

$17 craftsman headlight that takes AAA’S. 450 lumens.

Maybe there’s brighter and fancier flashlights on the market, but this one does everything I want it to.

I have a basic petzle headlight that's been a workhorse for general use. I like having a red light option for camping. Its a fantastic light. I have a k-light beacon for when I need something with major horsepower.

I have a streamlight from work that takes those fancy batteries which is pretty amazing.

I prefer stuff that uses AA or AAA batteries to rechargeable. Recharging is a problem when camping.

I may have drunkenly thrown my flashlight overboard when throwing out noodles awhile back. I guess I need to review this thread for a economy option.

If you have the means for tactical acquisition through work, these are ultra awesome

But, a regular ol mag lite LED AA sized is fantastic.

And as much as I hate to admit it, I got one of those nightstick lights that have the corny infomercial advertisements (as a gift of course) and it's pretty great.

Fenix HM 65R headlamp

On high beam setting bright enough to run the duck boat in the woods.
Dial it down or use floodlight mode for anything else. Top notch light.

Surprised no one mentioned gearlight, find em on Amazon. I have a few around the house, trucks, hunting bags, boat, etc. Can find them on Amazon prime days on very good discounts.

Just got a sofirn IF25A. Great light. Any reason I’d want something that casts a narrower beam further and brighter more in the form of a spotlight?

Im unsure if you are asking if you need something like a q beam or just a light with more throw to the beam.

For something with just more throw I’d get a Sofirn IF22A or Wurkkos TS11 or something similar with a sft40 based on your battery preferences. There’s some small details that may drive you to a different light but those with the sft40 will have much more throw than the If25a. Wurkkos and Sofirn are made in the same factory. If you want like a ton of throw, there’s other options also.

For a q beam type light, I still do use one sometimes even though I have a bunch of pocket lights. I use a Stanley fat max SL10LEDS, I still prefer to use that if I’m using one when I’m in a boat or driving for some reason the pistol grip and trigger is easier.

I have the PD35 (which I think is the PD36 now).

Actually I have two thanks to this board. Years back someone posted a tip that Academy had them on clearance. I went and found them for like $27.98. I bought three. Kept two and gave the other to my dad for Christmas. I keep one in my truck and one in my fishing bag.

I can tell you the one in my fishing bag has been in mud and every type of water in the SE and still works perfectly.

I know this is an older thread, but I wanted to mention this light. Seems to be built like a tank and fits great in the hand and pocket. Also keep it clipped to my bag for walking to the blind, always have it in my truck. Stays charged for a good while as well. Can be had for well under retail if you look.

I edc a Microstream. The USB rechargeable model is pretty awesome with high & low settings, but the standard AAA model can also take a 10440 lithium battery.
