I have no idea what you do for a living but I think you can fall back on the auctioneer thing if it ever fails.

Maybe the guy taking the bids or organizing the thing but the Mrs said he was trying to mock the auctioneer & said he sucked

The story Mrs. EJW said about the text she got really hit me hard. A tear or 2 may have been shed.

Frick a tear or two I cried like a baby

I'm not so sure about that.

I wanted to stay longer but it looks it was a good idea I left early or I wouldn't have made it home. That glass of Crown sure tasted good. I'm not much on crowds anyway.

I shoulda left with the trash. Literally

230 am hurt this fella.

BP's wife is a sweetheart for drivin us home. It was my bright idea to ask the shuttle driver if she would stay till 12:30.... She said yea - for $100. I only had $20 in my pocket (guess I spent $180 tipping bartenders and buyin tickets)... So I ran inside and emptied 4LSU2's wallet for the other $80.... Then paid the shuttle. Think Fish and his wife were the only beneficiaries of said transaction. Couldnt have done it for better folks tho.

I shoulda known if I went to a bar with folks I wouldnt be goin home at 1230 if others stayed.

I laughed all the way to the hotel in BP's Air Craft Carrier. Was fun. Lit up like a Christmas Tree ans crackin jokes.

Fun times.

I wondered where my cash went when I woke up yesterday morning.

Wife said you kept trying to leave me and smack at the bar because we were lagging and you were asking if she was cleared to drive "this RV"

Honestly don't remember the final parts of the night but I do remember a story about Lenny.

Good times for sure.

I would really like to sit and talk with 4LSU2 and Chiorboy some more under different circumstances. They were both visibly and understandably distracted and fatigued.

I was in the aircraft carrier also. I couldn't remember if you were with us not. It was getting very fuzzy. Good times

Smack was posting at approx 0330. I got the impression that he'd consumed an adult beverage or twelve. (Smack: I don't mean to insult you by underestimating your capacity for alcohol consumption.)

Blew me away actually. I don't think I had a conversation with her since I was roaming the halls of a certain high school on Forsythe Avenue in the 80's but I had to tell her point blank afterwards that I was literally overwhelmed.

Yeah I really wasn't able to let my hair down and enjoy the event in that kind of way. When the bidding started and we were getting premium money I was relieved. The I kicked it into overdrive wanting more items sold. We originally had intervals planned to stop and tell a story or recognize certain folks. The auctioneer told us we were crazy if we tried to do that. His words " I've been doing this for thirty years and you all have an energized crowd here. You have a shot to knock it out of the park. If you stop the momentum you stand to lose thousands"

We still planned to stop because we didn't think it would matter. After the 8th item was supposed to be a stopping point. While he was babbling he looked at me and said " I told you so let's keep this thing going" I nodded and he rolled on. After it was over he told me what he said earlier was wrong. That he now believes if we would have stopped it could have cost tens of thousands.

I can't tell you how proud I was to know what we pulled off. I had several people tell me they had been to several events like this that didn't do near as well. It was nothing we did other than invite some compassionate people to the same place and hope for the best. The OB was represented very well with donors and bidders. For that I'm forever grateful.

Yeh, when I approached you about the bundled trips on the silent auction before then live auction I could feel the tension. That's why I just let it drop.

You ever get over this way let me know.

I bid, bought and sold at the auction.... And in the heat of the moment I gave Choirboy a nod as to say "Ur doin a great job".... And realized I had just bid $1800 for half a cow....

My bad CB. I realized as soon as u looked at me WTF was about to happen.

Glad it went for more anyway. I woulda been buyin another freezer to put said cow in on the way home. Otis was standing beside me when I mentioned that I dont even want frozen cow! Lol
